Product Overview

Holographic bird ribbon drives away birds humanely. Irri-Tape bothers all of a bird's senses. As a visual scare, birds are scared by the material's sheen, as the light causes constantly changing 3-D colors and images. As a sound scare, birds are rattled by the noise Irri-tape makes as it blows in the breeze. Use for pigeons, sparrows, starlings, crows, blackbirds, grackles, seagulls, swallows, woodpeckers, ducks, geese, and more. Ideal for yards, gardens, rooftops, parks, ponds, boat docks, private beaches, patios, balconies, any open outdoor area or any semi-enclosed area with access to light and wind. Holographic ribbon is a full 2 inches wide and 100 feet long. Hang in small strips. Brackets for mounting above ledges or railings included.

Answer:
I'd tie the ribbon to branches on the tree. Remember, in order for the product to work, there has to be room for the ribbon to move in the breeze.

You can tape it, staple it, or pin it to the tree. As far as how many, you would have to use your best judgment. We do advise that you do have a few strips at all angles of the tree. This deter the birds at whatever angle the birds are coming from. When they see the tree they will see the reflection of the Irri-Tape and hear the crackling sound, frightening the bird to come near. Answer:
That is one method of application. You may also consider our Stainless Steel Bird Spikes to be applied directly to the ledge, as well.

Rated 3.7 out of 5 by 27 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Nasty Woodpecker So far the product appears to be effective since the woodpecker hasn't come back since repairing the hole and hanging the ribbon. September 6, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Worked I have a feral cat that I take care of and she had 3 kittens. I was afraid a hawk flying around would get the kittens. I put this out around the place of kittens and I haven't seen the hawk since. Also kept birds out of our garden. August 9, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Glad it works Easy to install anywhere outdoors. We have streamers at the base of our 2-story deck, and just below the peak of our roof -- to deter the mighty woodpeckers. I haven't heard them pecking since. Didn't have to use the spirals that came with the tapes, just secured some streamers together and nailed it In place. August 18, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by It worked in a small space above a window The keystone block above the window on my open porch was providing a landing spot for birds, who then left a deposit on the window sill or nearby furniture. A 12" piece of ribbon hanging from the ceiling above the keystone block has kept them 100% away. I'm not sure the ribbon would be practical where the wind and weather might blow it away, but it works great in a small and sheltered spot on my porch. August 2, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good on the target Very effective on the revenge to get rid of the crows so we are happy July 26, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by It's worth a try We put the bird repellant tape on the 4 corners of our garden fence, plus in a few spots on the interior. So far, so good....no turkeys have returned to eat our sprouts! August 2, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by best invention who would think this would keep squirrels away from your house and it doesn't hurt them July 12, 2016
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by I never used. It wasn't what I thought. This product turned out to be something different than what I thought. July 19, 2016
