This bird feeder came fully assembled. A few of the ports had popped out but were simple to just pop back in. The bird feeder attracts a multitude of birds. The ports can be for thistle or if you turn them they can be for sunflower seed mixes. We are currently using it for the sunflower seed mix. The container is clear so you can see the level of birdseed – but should you not notice, our birds will just peck on the window to remind you. It holds one and a half pounds of feed. It’s fairly easy to fill.

So far this bird feeder tube is doing ok, easy to fill and to adjust the slots where the birds feed from, from seeds to thislie seed, I use a seed variety. It has a nice hanger/handle and I like the way the cap "locks" into place using the hanger/handle as a slide for the cap and then securing it when the cap is lowered. It is not made of heavy materials so we will see how it gets through one Michigan winter when the snow arrives. Yes I would recommend this to a friend or family member. Looks nice.

The best feature of this feeder is the convertible feeding ports. You can turn them so that the port is wide open for all finches but wait! You can rotate the ports so that you can fill this feeder with thistle seed for Gold Finches.
The plastic is softer than most tube feeders and it tends to take in water. So until I get a dome cover to protect from rain and snow, I turn the ports to thistle so less water intrudes during a storm.
The top slides off easily to refill and it holds about 5 cups of "no waste" seed. IF I were looking for a con I'd have to say that it would be a better feeder without the base because water does leach in and it gets moldy.

If you are thinking about attracting birds to your yard or just want to feed them for a season, this feed is a good low cost entry level feeder. The quality is not very durable, so don't expect it to last very long. Quality bird feeders are very expensive. This does have the versatility to use thistle which finches love, or regular wild birdseed for sparrows, starlings, cardinals and many others. If you enjoy bird feeding, make a larger investment. If you are not sure this is an inexpensive option.

The bird feeder has issues with seeds that spill onto a small ledge at the feeder. They grow and cause a stinky problem. Moister ruins the seed and it stays full. The birds pass it over. You may be better off with a different feeder. Can't really tell you much good. It was easy to hang and watch it take up space. There is no weight to the feeder so the wind blows it around a good bit.

Cool bird feeder, did have an issue with when one of the feeder ports fell off and struggled to get it back one. After a little tweaking, I did manage to correctly attached the feeding port and then off to the yard to hang the feeder. Nice quality overall, but the feeder ports could have been a little larger and snap in so they have a sturdier sound when attached.
I must say that once I place the feeder outside; there was an invasion of Finches, they were all over the feeder and I have to refill it almost everyday. No problems with the feeder ports and the birds continue to come 5-7 at a time for hours.

This feeder is very low quality. The materials are thin and flimsy. It seems more like a toy than an outdoor product. Granted, it's priced accordingly, but the one I bought from a well-known bird store franchise, which cost three times as much, will last a life time, I also don't particularly find the ability to "switch" the feeder for different types of seeds very useful.

Very flimsy tubing so much so the ports fall out.. Lots of expensive finch seed wasted.
