Customer Questions & Answers

does this work?

Asked by: Hons
This zapper is only powered by two double A batteries, so it is not as sure as a bug zapper that is charged by house current. Some times, the bug is only stunned, as indicated by the Zapper's instruction sheet. This unit is not a permanent fix to the mosquito or fly problem.

How long should you charged it

Asked by: Jordan
You don't charge it. It takes batteries and they seem to last several months. I've yet to replace mine and have been using it probably 6 months already.

does It sound when you hit the fly?

Asked by: nolo
Not always, but this unit is not as well designed as you would hope. Does well on flies, but not mosquitoes.

I've been really frustrated with those little clothes moths and when I see one, it meets it's fate. I am willing to take them down one-by-one if I have to. You don't have to swat quickly like a fly swatter, it just has to make contact. I bought a second one to keep on my patio and one for an envious friend.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from How great is this!! These are fantastic. My wife and I use them inside as well as outside on the patio. I purchased a set last year and they are going strong! They do not make sounds like a bug 'zapper' does, but they do 'fry' the bugs. You do not swing it hard but lightly and the mesh grid does the work. It is extremely effective and powerful! We use them daily and they are still working off of the orignal batteries we put in them. We are very Satisified with the effectiveness of this units.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Junk I had bought one at another retailer, different brand, and loved it. Broke a few weeks ago and saw these in the HD. The ratings seemed to be good, so I bought 3. 2 for indoors and 1 for the garage. With all the rain we've had, flies and mosquitoes are in abundant. These do not work. I thought maybe I had a bad one, but tried all 3 and got the same result..NOTHING. The flies just look at you and laugh. I even put my finger on the grid, and the biggest shock I got was about the same as putting your tongue on a 9-v battery. Very disappointing. I usually don't return things, but these are definitely going back..

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Awkward, and not the best of designs... Though this item started out to be a good idea, the design is somewhat lacking and the actual use of the racket is awkward and not the best way to get rid of mosquitoes. The wiring on the racket seems like it is separated too far, and is better suited for flies, and not mosquitoes. The button has to be held down to keep it on and that turns out to be another draw back on this device. If the unit had an on off switch it would make for a better design. Placing the wiring closer together would be a greater design.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Hand Held Bug Zapper Just the idea was wonderful, so I had to find one. Home Depot only sells on line. I know that the product is designed for the grids to add strength, but sometimes they also hinder the bug being captured...On crawling bugs...hehheh...it gets 'em and I love it!!! Got a landed fly, but not much luck when they are in the air. When the temperature gets higher, I am sure the testing will continue. All in all, what a novel idea and I'm having fun with a new toy!!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not too strong It is good for killing flies etc., but with wasps, there isn't enough current to kill, you smack em and they fall and hit the grown then get up and fly away, if you want to kill it you have to get it stuck on the wire and hold the button for a good 3 seconds.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Never buy this product, waste of time it didn't start working right from the box only, the size is too small and hard to catch a fly with tht.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from no more flying insects A great way to eliminate smaller flying insects without pesticides or mess.
