Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Moses does not kill or attract mosquitos,
does not kill mosquitos and does not attract them, it kills little moths only, and who cares about that, never knew I had them and they never bothered me, had unit on for 5 days, day and night, put a little container under it to see if any bugs got zapped. I have a pond, put it over pond, next to pond, away from pond and nothing, Checked on it continuously and nothing, nothing, nothing. So disappointed. I hate that I have to waste my time and go back to the home depot. IT doesn't even zap anything, no noise at all, it just slowly fries the little moths, and smells bad. I actually have more mosquitos than I did a week ago. A real piece of garbage. Really. I am writing this awful review to save you all some time, I need a bug zapper , and this did not work in the least.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by jaybake32 Lasts about two seasons
This zapper worked well for about two seasons, and then the zapping screen stopped working. The light continued to work, but the unit no longer actually zapped and killed the bugs. Not a great product. Cheap plastic construction.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Countryliving2016 Does the job I wanted and expected it to do!!
I actually bought the next size up the 6500 volts but u can't write a review on it but otherwise there both the same as what they need to do and that's keep the night pests to a bare minimum. I live in the country that has a pond and woods next to our house and the black light and green led light that comes on and off u can literally see the mosquitos fly right to it. I can honestly say that sitting on our new porch is very enjoyable now. And as for how quiet it is unless u watch mosquitos getting zapped you literally can't even hear them being zapped. I have only one but I will be buying 2 more because I seems like once there is something that is good and or actually works on the market its gone and replaced with something cheaper and does half the job.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Nate Great purchase, easily helps with our bug problem
Great item. Was looking with something that got good reviews and was overly expensive. Found this one and thought it would be worth a try. Within 24 hours saw a noticeable difference in the bug population around our house. After a while noticed the bugs were coming back again, checked the light and found it was seriously needing a cleaning as there were probably a couple hundred bugs in the mesh. Cleaned it out (following the easy directions in the owners manual) and it continues to work like a champ.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Mialto Works as expected
Our house backs up to a forrest preserve and retention pond in Chicago. As we expect every summer it becomes a challenge not to get bit by a mosquito when sitting out by the pool. I finally decided to arm ourselves, bought two of these units and two Dynatrap DT1200 units, running 24 hours a day. Results, haven't been bit by a mosquito in over a couple weeks. The devices are constantly getting full so I need to maintain every 48 hours. Not a bad trade off. I'd rather do maintenance then get bit.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Karl Good quality with a small design flaw
I purchased this brand name specifically because the competitor brand had poor reviews. I had also owned the other brand and found the reviews to be accurate.
The design flaw I have found with the Blackflag 40 watt deluxe is it plugs up easily. This time of year I actually have to run two zappers due the volume of flying insects. I have to clean it out every morning as is completely plugged.
Bottom line this zapper attracts the insects and kills them! Cleaning it daily is a minor issue.
