The old ground wire was too thin, so I replaced the thin speaker wire with some 8 gauge wire. I hooked up the new wire to this ground clamp. It was very easy to install and fit perfectly on 3/4 inch copper tube. The screws work with a slotted, Phillips or square screwdriver. Now my house is properly grounded and has a very safe electrical system!

Works well when used to clamp ground wire to 1/2" to 1" underground water pipe. NOT designed for use on 1/2"ground rod as in previous post. 1/2" copper pipe is 5/8 OD and works fine. Screws rust minus 1star.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by matt doesn't work for 1/2" ground rod
although the description says 1/2 to 1", it just barely stays on my 1/2" ground rod. in fact, even fully tightened, i can wiggle it off the ground rod. That's not tight enough when my safety is dependent upon a solid connection to ground.
