Customer Questions & Answers

is there a tray to scrap excess grease into?

Asked by: tootall
There's a small rectangular grease catcher box provided that many reviewers have said is inadequate, but my wife and I wrap the drip edge in foil so it doesn't run down the right front leg. When cleaning as described by us previously, we use a larger pan to catch the detritus of grease, water, grilled food remnants, etc.

Where does the propane tank sit on this griddle ?

The griddle looks neat. I rather have this than a regular gas grill. However, I am not fond of an exposed propane tank.
Asked by: Reeseicup
On the left side below the cooking surface.

is this a cast iron cook top ?
Asked by: clint
No, cold rolled steel that seems to act both in cooking and cleaning (and care) like cast iron

Portable and folding?

We are looking for a grill that we can fold and store in a trailer and take to events. We'd then set it up for the day and use it there 6-8 times a year. Would this grill work for that?
Asked by: Kimberly
Supposedly portable, but at 129lbs, a little bulky for that unless you have an sub or truck. You can fold and store in your trailer- just lake sure it' s well seas o be a/ oiled so it doesn't rust.

My wife and I cook on it in tandem. Back left and right quadrants seem to be hottest spots on ours. Cooks evenly, thoroughly, and quickly- great fun. Neighbors say it smells like a Japanese steak house emanating from our back yard- and we live on an acre! My only concern is that it trusts even more quickly than uneasiness cast iron cookware. I have had such for twenty-plus years without this happening. I clean it immediately after use with water and paper towels and keep it drained with vegetables oil both after it's used (while still hot), and prior to using after warming up- wiping in the oil on both the cooking surface and the raised lips. I use a little lemon juice instead of salt for tough marks, and make sure I rinse and dry this thoroughly before seasoning. Still little rust each time. Maybe this is indicative of the rolled stainless steel top, however. I have seen one other that had cracked, but suspect neglect of oiling from the user as the culprit. My advice- use it regularly, have fun with it, clean it, oil it, and I would bet it will be worth the money! Oh, by the way, we put aluminum foil on the end of the drip edge and don't have any oil run down the legs.

The first meals I prepared on my new Blackstone griddle were bacon and eggs and then Philly cheese steak sandwiches. Both went over really, really well. The cooking surface is huge- more than enough to cook an entire meal for my crew of 5 all at once! The lighting mechanism is the only annoying thing- hasn't worked since I got it. I gave up quickly trying to problem solve that since I was anxious to try it out. Been using my grill lighter since then. The cooking surface can rust and should be protected from water. Because of that, if you store it outside on the deck like I do, the cover is a must have. Also, do yourself a favor and get the spatula set. These are must have tools for both cooking and cleaning the griddle.

This is a great product, made bacon, sausage, eggs, potatoes and french toast for 7 and didn't have a single pan to clean. My youngest son just got back from basic/tech school on his way to Japan. Did a Japanese style dinner with the whole family fried rice, garlic shrimp, and cashew chicken complete with Saki, just pulled the grill up to the long table on the patio and everyone sat there while I cooked. What a blast kids were laughing so hard they had to film it. This was worth the price alone. Just make sure you put a grill mat under it.

I do love ❤️ that my grill is large enough for many grilling items but clean up is consuming time I wish there were a lid that went over your food when cooking the food so it would splatter over other items sitting on the side of the grill. The tray for grease is a little small . Could be larger! I do like that my breakfast or lunch can be made all at once and the durability of the grill stainless top . If some of the problems I said in this survey can be fix , I would recommend it .

This grill was easy to assemble, very simple instructions but the latch that holds the legs in place was missing a rivet/screw, so the latch was just dangling. Poor workmanship and very bad quality control. I had to return it and exchange it the grill for just a missed screws. Otherwise I would have been satisfied. Nevertheless, that was my biggest complaint on this grill.

The purchase could not have been easier. HD already had it assembled. I simply rolled it to the cash register and in 2 min i was out the door.
