this is a stylish looking air-gap cap, the guts are just the same plastic parts. So you are really paying for the cap. if that's ok with you then go for it. the plastic body is fairly short so if you have a thicker counter you should get a longer generic plastic part. the spec sheet for this item leaves a lot to be desired, also no mounting instructions.

The plastic Y tube provided with this attractive cap doesn't work as an assembly. The metal cap is so short that the above-the-counter plastic nut (which is very loose on the threads to begin with) can only engage with a few threads. When you are under the counter trying to finger tighten the no-leak washer, the top nut strips off the threads.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Skidkid Nice Styling and good Quality but not discreet
This air gap looks excellent. The cover is heavy construction and not like those skimpy little covers from most vendors. The stainless is a little on the warm side, think close to brushed nickle. If you aren't super obsessive it will look ok with both stainless and brushed nickle. The diameter of the cover is fairly large so this isn't exactly discreet. If you want discreet this isn't your product. If you want some style you are looking in the right place.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Carol Plastic is too flimsy
You are buying a stainless steel cap. The plastic airgap is flimsy and the plastic ring that is supposed to affix the plastic airgap to your sink/counter top ... it is not strong enough to hold the airgap and the two separate. Save yourself some money and buy another less costly product.

Prettiest air gap I've seen. Very heavy-duty, not cheap-looking like all the others. No installation instructions (not that you'd think you'd need them.) Attach what looks like the inlet line to the drain and the outlet line to the d/w and it will work fine.

This Airp gap is beautiful for a new kitchen. The only problem I am currently having is installing it. The inside is to short to fit todays thick countertops but I am still trying to make it work because we love it so much.
