Got this because the store was out of graphite tubes. The explanation on the side of the can implied this did the same thing, which was lubricate sticky keys. All it did was spray a layer of black gunk all over my hands and key, and the key still sticks in the lock, I almost just broke it off in the lock actually. Do not buy!!!! Oh and now the black gunk on the key is rubbing off on my hands and everything inside my purse. Buy graphite in a tube instead.

This stuff works great, have to be careful spraying into locks dummies lol. Refurbed a dozen GI mags and still plenty left.

As it turned out, graphite under pressure is a terrible idea. As careful as I tried to be to put the little extender in a door lock that was sticking, it went everywhere. What a mess. Took over an hour to clean up plus I will have to do some repainting- and at one point, not sure I was going to be able to get it off the tile floor. Next time I will use WD40 (which I did here and it worked fine) or a silicon product. If you need graphite, I remember small squeeze type tubes that at least you can control but I did not seem them at Home Depot.

Effective and easy to apply but recommend using a towel or rag to catch the excess when applying and when using a key the first couple of times afterwards.

I don't understand the 2 negative reviews. I use Blaster products all the time and they work great. Yes, it is messy and anyone who's ever messed with 325+ mesh graphite already knows just how messy we're talking about. The nature of graphite means wiping it off with a wet rag will probably rip some paint away.
Then there's over-use. It comes out fast and you need very little. We're not spraying WD-40 here we're spraying what is a solid... You can seize up your locks by spraying a bunch in there and having it essentially turn into a solid rock.
At any rate, I use this in many appropriate locations and it works great. It's nice to have powdered graphite in a nice clean can that is easily stowable.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by PurpleParrot Fantastic Product if you know what it is and what it is for
I read the reviews carefully and was not going to buy this. However, Since the return policy is so good at Home Depot, I gave it a shot.
I wanted Graphite because I wanted to lubricate Door Locks, and Bicycle chains. I am quite familiar Graphite Lubricants I inherited from my father. It disappeared so I need new. This WORKS perfect and am 100% pleased with the product. Now about other comments. Those who complained about how difficult it is to clean up, don't know anything about Graphite. It is an EXTREMELY small particle. It will stain nearly EVERYTHING. Get it on your hands, and it will take not was away easily. Get it on leather, upholstery, clothes, carpet, towels, any cloth, wood and the item is 100% going to be permanently stained. That is what graphite does, and what this SHOULD DO. This DOESN'T leave a sticky residue. It is intended for locks and can leave any liquid or tack film or it will attract dirt and abrasives destroying the lock. If you are looking for a DRY lube with a propellant to get it into hard to get places, this is it. Want to Lubricate sliding door ways, NOT THE PRODUCT. You need new rollers not lubricant. Want to lubricate door hinges in the house. NOT A GOOD IDEA. Too easy to make a mess. Use a silicone or PTFE (AKA Teflon) based lube. Want an industrial strength dry lube for Gears, Bicycle and other types of chains, Locks, etc. this is the product at a great price.
Last, A pencil is made of Graphite. Graphite is BLACK. You can't make Graphite Clear or any other color other than Black just like you can't change the spots on a leopard. Know what the product is for, know what you are going to do with it, and it will work perfect.

I got this product this to lubricate a bathroom hinge. As it was supposed to be a dry lubricate I was expecting it not to be messy.
I used the included straw to direct a short spray on the hinge. It made a mess on the door frame. Annoying but I thought I could just wipe it off...nope. The product damages the paint and stains it. What was supposed to be a simple hinge lubrication will turn into repainting the door trim.
I expected to be able to use this product for multiple applications and now I am afraid to use it. I would not recommend buying this product.

Replaced all my locks with Schlage upper dead bolts and regular knob locks on four doors, 8 locks total from Home Depot. The locks were EZ to install and were working great. Two weeks later I purchased the GS Graphite Dry Lube for the locks, you know, extend the life. I applied the lubricant, worked the key to coat all area's and then went to work. When I got back home all the locks were completely frozen, I couldn't even get the key in. I called B'laster Corporation and was advised to use brake cleaning fluid, some of their product was shipped with too much resin and this will free up the locks. Drove to an auto store and picked up some transmission cleaning fluid, they didn't have brake cleaning fluid. It worked, but that was just too much drama and I wanted others out there to NOT have this happen to them.
