I currently use a vornado fan near the wall heater to circulate hot air around the room. Would this work better?

Answer:
I would have to say that a vornado fan might work better than this unit depending on the size of the fan and where it is located. This unit does not pull or push air through the wall furnace. It sits on top of the furnace and directs heated air toward the floor. A larger fan located in the correct location could do a better job of circulating warm air within a specific room. However, note that this unit Read More

It sits on top of the furnace and directs heated air toward the floor. A larger fan located in the correct location could do a better job of circulating warm air within a specific room. However, note that this unit has a thermostat controlling the unit. That means after the furnace reaches a certain temperature, it turns on and after the furnace cools to a certain temperature it turns off. It doesn't blow air all the time like a fan would without some additional control. Read Less

Answer:
The unit is going to require a 110v grounded connection and should be wired according to local electrical codes. Note that the area behind the unit's electrical box is open and allows only about 2 inches of clearance to the wall. There is not enough space for a normal grounded (three prong) plug. If local codes allow, a 90 degree plug would be required. Also, my unit did not come with wire nuts to Read More

Rated 3.5 out of 5 by 25 reviewers.
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Blower Installation The physical installation was very easy. The information on the electrical could use a little more detail especially if the unit is installed after the wall heater is already in place and you don't want to take the front off of the heater to get a location for the electrical connection. The unit does make some noise in operation but not to a great level and in my opinion is not objectionable. The unit does not provide a great deal of air flow but is better than natural convection. In my installation I feel I get better and more even temperature distribution with the unit. December 30, 2015
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Blower Accessory This Blower Accessory is an attractive addition. The one I received has an out of balance fan and is very noisy otherwise works as advertised. January 22, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Super unit Great item low is real quiet high has a little more noise. Super easy to hook up works just like it's supposed to January 14, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by it's a must-have Definitely worth the hundred dollars, moves the warm air across the room and into adjacent rooms.works with its own thermostat turning off and on with the heater. But it does require 110 V power supply directly above the wall heater. It does exactly what it says it supposed to do and it does it pretty good November 4, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by A nice complement to the heater The blower assembly does what is advertised. Installation is easy and straight-forward. However, a separate electrical outlet near heater is required to run the fan. Once installed, the blower will start and run intermittently when the heater reaches approx. 120 degrees at the top of the furnace. The blower adds a seamless look to the furnace. From an engineering point of view, it is like placing a fan on top of a space heater to blow hot air around. The basic furnace could have incorporated the blower in its initial design. It does make a difference. December 11, 2012
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Worked well for two years .. The blower accessory worked well at first, but then the fan went out of whack (I suspect worn bearings). Some might say that two years is pretty good, but I have another, older brand furnace that still has a working fan blower, and it has more time on it than this one. Then I noticed that the price has gone up by a LOT. November 5, 2014
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Williams Blower 2901 Just like other reviewers here said, this blower is some what loud on high, it is not so loud that you cannot hear people talk when they are in the room! The heat sensor does take about 5 minutes to turn the fan on after the heater comes on. The fan only blows about 100 CFM of air, so it does not blow very strong. I put this on an old Gaffers Sattler wall heater will no problem. If you don't expect a lot, you won't be disappointed February 13, 2012
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Blower Improves Circulation Works as described and does a good job in providing circulation throughout the room. Low noise level with two speeds. May 9, 2014
