Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Mick Seems to do the job well
Delivery in my specific case wasn't handled very well. Unpacking from shipping crate was straightforward. Assembly wasn't terribly difficult, but did have a few small challenges in interpreting the instructions.
Customer service, however, has been horrible from the manufacturer, North American Tools. They insist that any questions/problems are handled through a webpage. They're quick to assign a web ticket, but that's as far as it goes, no further response. They won't answer the phone, insisting that it's inefficient compared to the web. I ended up going to Tractor Supply to pickup the missing parts.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Dave Right price for the right tool
Before I purchased, I read how others rated this as hard to assemble, parts heavy, agreed but necessary since this tool is designed to work hard. Of others I priced, this brand was most affordable, feel the prce was right. Minor issues which are normal with any maintenance type item, as long as you care for it properly. It performs well, without failure. Engine starts within 2 pulls, minimual noise, labors very little even with the hardest of Oak I have split so far...

I ordered this from Home Depot and put it together myself and had help lifting the main cylinder into place. I split over 10 cords last year and I'm probably gong to split more this year. I did have a dirty carb after sitting all summer but that's not the splitter's fault that was my fault for leaving gas untreated in there all those months. Took the carb apart and cleaned it up put it back together and it runs just like new.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by JohnnyFiveToes Needs improvements
The fuel tank is only 1 gallon not 3 as adveriized. The braces could have been made a little more sturdy to prevent wobbling. The engine oil fills could be locater better, as is you need a flexible funnel. the log holder can only hold 8 inches without hand holding. No tow lights and cannot be towed at more than 15 mph.
Goodf stuff. Instructions were remarkable strait forward and well understood. Only had to do the forward brace over a couple of times. Nuts and bolts were easy to identify. Easy to put together except for cylinder housing which is to be expected. Quiet compared to other splitters I have used. Acceptable cycle time and can split large fresh cut pieces of white oakl. 100 year old tree, three cords in one afternoon between two people. Exprecting at leas another three plus cords to go.
Note: We placed hydraulic floor jacks underneath each end of the cylinder assemble and jacked them up untill we could roll the chassy undermeath. Then just lowered and slid into place. No lifting, no next day back problems.
Would reccommend at the sale price.
Johnny Five Toes.
Only bad experience was lifting the cylinder cradle (definite a two and a half person job
