Answer:
The only Blue Max Line Trimmer/Brush Cutter I have seen and the one I have is 2 stroke gasoline powered. It does not have a cord. Sounds like someone must have gotten some ads or pictures and descriptions mixed up.

Answer:
This is a 2-cycle GAS trimmer. I own two of them. It is NOT electric. You do not use any type of cord with it and it doesn't use 15 amps.
I didn't see where this info was printed but it is irrelevant and erroneous.

what is the overall shaft length. I am 6'8" and would need a longer shaft than most to comfortably operate the unit. Does this unit have extension shafts to accomadate someone with my build?

2-Cycle 42.6cc Straight Shaft Trimmer and Brush Cutter Combo is rated 3.3 out of 5 by 128.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poor quality product. Poor workmanship! I took it out of the box and did the required assembly. Filed the gas tank and started the unit. The gas tank leaked! Shut the unit off to look for leak. Location was not visible when not running. Went to start the unit a second time and the starter rope would not recoil and fell apart! The plastic housing was broken in two places.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from This item needs a design change! The trimmer seemed well built, however, 5 minutes cutting grass and needed to advance the line bumped the head on the ground and the housing flew apart. One of the plastic keepers that hold the outer head in place broke. After looking at the keepers it was clear to me was very poor design. Took it in to Home Depot and they replaced the head with a different brand. Marked the price down to 1 cent and sent me on my way. One of the reasons I buy all my needed supplies at your stores. The customer when right, is king. If nothing else people should know that your associates are will trained to help the customers. My hat is off to the gentleman who helped me!!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Ok, Not Great I wanted to love this trimmer, but just couldn’t. Three major complaints: 1. The trimmer head has a nasty harmonic shake that doesn’t go away unless you’re at full throttle. 2. I have yet to find ANY third party accessories or utility heads that work with this, not even those marked universal. 3. The placement of the shoulder strap in relation to the wide-spaced handles gets really uncomfortable with extended use, and if you’re not careful, you can easily get the skin between your thumb and index finger pinched in the throttle. It has continued to work for two years, so that definitely counts for something, but as a primary trimmer, it’s just not been ideal.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from This is a BEAST. After reading many other reviews I bit the bullet and bought this becuase I kill small cc's I need Power. The only bad I see is YES it is heavier..DUH. and I had to use a different strap. Only once so far was it hard to start but once going doesn't stop. I call it my sleeping giant. I had 7 foot tall overgrown grass on long fences... Gone with JUST the STRING. I have not even tried the blade yet. Overall very pleased. Make sure you use the right gas oil mix, get a 1 gallon can not a 1.25 because i goofed on that and burned up my last cheaper weedeater.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Pile of junk This is a heavy machine. The shoulder strap is uncomfortable at best. The handle bars are bent the wrong way and can't be flipped. It's very hard to start. The same fuel from the same can runs great in the Hitachi I purchased to replace this. The choke is labeled incorrectly. After an hour of running the engine would load up and not get any RPMs then it would die. Could not get it started again for at least a day. The catch that holds the two shaft halves together broke off after two hours of use. The first time I went to use it this year it sounded like dry metal on metal when pulling the cord. Toast after a total of about three hours run time! What a waste of time an money. I will never buy any Blue Max product again. Oh and I wrote this after cooling off for about three months.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Blu Max 42.6cc string trimmer/brush cutter. I bought this trimmer for my husband thinking that for the price & with the warranty & return policy, I had nothing to lose. I was right. My husband is very impressed with this unit.. His only negative comment is the same as others. It is heavy. He said the strap could be better but used a section of pool noodle to make a cushion for the strap. He is 5'8" & was able to balance the unit to his satisfaction. It may take some innovation to adjust this for taller people. but it is doable & for the price, worth he effort. in our opinion. It cranks easily & runs smoothly & did a great job.. It appears to be of good quality. We are very happy with our purchase.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Heavy Duty I have only used the weed eater for a few minutes but it did not lug down with tall weeds. The heavy gauge twine does not snap off like other line. Mobility is the main issue. You can not use it like a smaller weed eater. Cutting around a post requires the operator to move like a planet. It is designed to sweep from side to side ie cutting a path. Trimming long straightaways is the best use. Trimming drainage ditches is a challenge. Following a slope will require some skill building! I would not recommend this for a average or smaller person. It is harder to start and is heavier. It requires much strength and stamina to use.
