The low mount spa cover lift was easy to install, but the instructions were wrong. because it said to pre-drill with a 1/4" drill bit but it should be a 1/8" drill bit.

I was not comfortable with mounting this direct to my tub. Fortunately I am pretty handy and manufactured L shaped floor brackets mounted to my deck that this rail could bolt onto. The instructions call for direct mount into the sides of hot tub. The rail needs to withstand significant torque when opening a large cover. The 4 inch screws into the tub sides worried me. But I love it now. Good purchase for me.

Installed this coverlift product for the second time. The first lasted several years but eventually the pivot stoppers and support rails bend too much and the self-tapping screws/arm connections rust out (the screws eventually back out). My hot tub installation required removing the side covers and installing wood blocking in corners to give the lower brackets a solid mounting surface. This is not mentioned in the instructions and was a pretty big job but important to not damaging side covers. Pretty dismayed at the product designers since you can't even get a socket or open end wrench on the 3/4" nuts on the backside of the brackets to tighten because the pre-drilled holes are too close to bracket edges. I recommend coating all hardware with paint or silicone to inhibit rusting. Make sure and align your pre-drilled holes for all cover support bar fasteners to prevent screw heads from contacting the cover material. Finally, buy "spa cover saver" straps to help keep your cover seams from ripping due to weight. They transfer the weight from the center of your hot tub cover to the cover lifter support arms and you should be good to go.

After reading several other reviews, I decided to purchase this product. Thought the directions were alright, not as bad as some of the other reviews made them seem. Fairly easy to install, make sure you pre-drill so you don't split the shell (although I used a smaller bit for my pre-drill hole because the one they recommended seemed too big for the screw to get enough bite). Measure twice, make sure you're even with the one you install on the other side so everything aligns properly. Great product and value for the money.

Spa cover lift was a great investment. Easy enough to install, took about an hour, and now makes removing and reinstalling the spa cover a one person operation.

I bought this cover lift for my 13 year old hot tub. I tried to install it according to the directions- on the rounded corner 3"-5" above ground. In my case this location would block access to my service panels and the screws would not be anchored into a solid portion of the paneling. After careful consideration and test fitting I cut the ends off the "Pivot Arms" so that I could mount the lift pivot bracket on the (solid) base of the hot tub. It works perfectly every time. I found the materials to be top quality and well finished. I expect this lift will outlast the remaining years of my old tub.

Easy to install. Stop fighting with your cover and get a little privacy with the cover hanging on the side of your hot tub. I can't stop saying how much this is worth it. I know my cover will last longer with this lift. That's a easy ROI since new covers are expensive.
* Note: It's made for a hot tub with rounded corners (mine is square), but I just screwed it to the corner the best way it would fit and still worked perfect.
