Can this model, or ANY of the bonjour french press coffee makers safely rest on a hot plate to keep the coffee hot longer? Are the feet made of metal, and is the glass heat resistant?
Asked by: heloman
Thank you for your great question, heloman. The 8-Cup Maximus French Press in Copper is crafted from heat-resistant borosilicate glass, and features an easy-pour spout, and boasts a gorgeous, jewel-tone stainless frame and lid. Although the frame is metal, we would not recommend placing the product, or any Bonjour French Presses on a hot plate or stovetop as this may cause damage to the item or your cook top. The BonJour Flavor Lock® filter system integrated right into the stainless steel plunger allows the brewing process to be stopped in the French coffee press when the desired strength is reached. Though top-rack dishwasher safe, handwashing the carafe is recommended to preserve its finish. We hope this information is helpful.

Maximus 8-Cup French Press in Stainless Steel is rated 3.5 out of 5 by 4.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Convenient easy to store coffee maker. Old fashioned, easy coffee maker. Brew Performance Not as hot as a coffee maker but makes a decent cup of coffee. Ease of Cleaning Just rinse and dry Ease of Use Just heat the water, fill with coffee and press. It's helpful to grind the coffee before and store in an airtight container to save time. Design Carafe is nice to look at Durability Gave as a gift and seems to be holding up fine.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from If you're serious about your coffee, this is a must have. I always thought I didn't like coffee until I was introduced to coffee the way it was intended to be drank. Coffee from a press really is an entirely different animal than coffee from a drip coffeemaker. And the BonJour 8 Cup French Press is a very easy to use press, although the 8 cups is a little misleading, I find I only get 2 really good sized (still nowhere near 4 cups, though) out of th press. It looks quite attractive and will impress all your guests with your coffee snobbery ;) Cleaning can be a little bit of a chore (no soap on your press, just like cast iron) but the superior flavor justifies it. It's very easy to use, much less complicated that a drip coffeemaker, though there is bit of an art to finding the right temperature of water - a little off the boil, not still at a rolling boil. I also really recommend using freshly gound beans to brew the ultimate cup of coffee. Nothing beats it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from first but maybe my last, unless breaks :) Ok, I honestly don't have anything to compare it to. This is my first press ever. So, there may be better ones out there, but I don't care, I love this one! No plans to replace it soon. Just wish I had more time to boil water every morning, cause the coffee tastes SO much better!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Fragile I'm sure it would have been a nice french press if it hadn't arrived broken. Twice?! It was packed well in an oversized box with lots of bubblewrap showing no sign of abuse. Still they were both broken. Sooo
