Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Mike Excellent product! Easy to apply and looks great.
This was my first time refinishing a floor. We have wide board pine which is about 110 years old. I settled on Bona products after much research and reading several reviews by pros. I had to finish the floor in one day otherwise the sander rentals would have nearly doubled the cost of this project. The advantage of this water based poly is that is has very little VOC fumes and it dries very quickly. I was able to sand the floor with a square sander and an edger, then apply 3 coats of poly in 10 hours from start to finish.
The results are spectacular! The floor that I refinished looks better than the ones that were done by pros. We were able to walk on it within a day and move the furniture back within 3 days (just to be on the safe side). We have a small condo and the fumes were never a problem. We left the window open inside this room and that was it. The rest of our place was free of fumes which is big because we have 2 cats. I would highly recommend this product.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by EricSTL So far, very impressed!
This is my first try at refinishing my floor. I have an old house circa 1900, that has the original fir tongue and groove flooring. I had it professionally sanded and refinished with moisture cure poly 16 years ago. Since then the floor has had next to no upkeep. Pets and guests have tromped all over the main floor. Needless to say, the floor was pretty much wrecked a decade and a half later.
The old floorboards didn't have enough thickness left to do another complete resand and refinish. So, my choice was either to do new hardwood over the old floor, or attempt a scuff and recoat. I opted for the recoat - figuring that it couldn't get any worse.
So, I sanded the entire floor with my belt sander and a disc sander with 120 grit...sanding lightly on the reasonably good areas and heavily on the really torn up spots (ever seen what duct tape can do to an old wood floor?)
After doing some spot filling, I resanded to get the excess off, then vacuumed the whole floor twice.
I bought the Bona based on what little info I could find on the web and YouTube. I have to say that I'm super pleased with both the ease of application and the look of the finish. I used the lambswool mop recommended by the paint guy...and a chip brush for tight spots. It was super easy and fast...just pour out some poly on the floor and mop it all on wet in fairly even strokes. No problem with bubbles like some other finishes. I was able to apply three coats in one day...leaving 2 hours between coats. I was also able to mix TransTint water based pigments in with the poly to get a reasonable color match to fix up the bald patches in the floor.
The self sealing of the Bona is exceptional. Using the color patch coats in small areas on top of even the last full coat showed no lines where wet poly was laid over dry. I couldn't believe the lines disappeared that well.
The end result does not look like the professional job that I had done years ago. But, that isn't the fault of the finish. The Semi Gloss finish looks terrific over my now "fashionably distressed" floor. I have no doubt that if I were able to go the full sanding route, that the finish would look just as good as what I had 16 years ago.
A huge plus is that the Bona poly has very little odor and is easy to wash off my hands. Other than opening a window for a few hours in the afternoon, I had no problems with vapors. I was able to stay in the house the entire time. When we originally had the floors done, we had to vacate the house for 2 days.
I have no idea how well it will hold up over time, but so far, I'm very impressed with Bona FloorPoly HD.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Dissapointed Says commercial and professional grade, don't believe it!
Goes on easy, looks great after finish. Waited 8 days for it to be definitely fully cured before allowing our dogs on it. Scratched within 5 minutes after the dogs were back on it. Can't stand up to anything that may scratch it, even a little bit. It says commercial on it, and also says professional grade, but it is not. High durability, totally misleading. Contacted Bona, they're no help either. We were told the product really is only a lower grade product, not really professional quality or commercial quality, even though it states that on the bottle. If you have kids or dogs, don't think this will stand up to them.

I am a contractor who purchased Bona Semi-Gloss Polyurethane to refinish a clients hardwood floors from Home Depot. Following all the printed and video instruction I applied three coats. The floors were beautiful. However, after two months the floor is starting to bubble and peeling leaving hideous spots throughout my floor, also we noticed that it scratches very easily leaving terrible gouges in the polyurethane coat.
My disappointment is I have done numerous refinishing jobs and this was the first time using your product based on your experience, reputation, and the boast of the NBA official flooring authorization.
I purchased two bottles to do my project and will have to say was terribly disappointed in the ending results.
