I mistakenly bought the polish, thinking it was the cleaner and used the polish as if it were the cleaner. Now my floors are ruined. They look fine immediately after cleaning, but the second you walk on them, every footprint shows. Even the vacuum cleaner leaves streaks on the floor. The floors are dull, milky and feel sticky. I am furious. Will have to hire a professional to get rid of this awful finish. Prior to using the polish, the floors were beautiful.

This product left my floors looking horrible. It left a coat of milky haze on all my floors. Nothing gets I have tried, gets rid of this nasty mess. I decided to call the company who installed my floors and hopefully they can make recommendations to restore my floors.to their original appearance.

I've been using Bona Cleaner for a long time and was quite satisfied with it. My big mistake was when I decided to use the Bona Polish. Now my new dark chocolate engineered wood floor is ruined. It looks like I used white wall paint to cover it. I have been trying so hard to take the white, waxy, disgusting, dirty film away with no success. I am so disappointed and frustrated about this product and that they still sell it despite so many bad reviews and complains. What can I use to get my floor back?

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Siri I finally found it.
I don't really like a high shine floor. I prefer a more natural look, but I cannot find Bona low gloss hardwood floor polish at any of the stores. I love the finish this leaves.

I believe all the negative reviews pertain to engineered wood floors. I've used this on my non-engineered true hard wood floors and the product seems to be superb. Even my flooring installers recommend this. That said, they suggest to only polish twice a year, anything more than that is too much polish. Also note, engineered wood floors are NOT the same as true real hardwood floors. Engineered wood floors by definition don't need to be polished because of how they are made where as true hardwood floors need the extra care to make them shine since they are installed, stained, and sealed on site at the place of install.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Floor professional Try it yourself before believing negative reviews
Before you decide to not try this product because of the negative reviews here, you need to try it yourself. Too often people are using completely incompatible cleaners and polishes with their hardwood floors. Blame your lack of knowledge, not the product! It is your responsibility to know what you are walking on and if your floor is in any way waxed, oiled, etc. then this is NOT what you want to use! Think water and oil. This is meant for water based finishes.
Also be wary if you are using this on a floor that you did not originally purchase or install. I believe this is where a lot of problems occur. Sometimes previous owners/tenants use something like Pledge or Murphy's oil soap and that's where your problems begin. These will put an oily layer over your nice finish, not always noticeable at first and if you were to apply this Bona polish over it then it will definitely appear as a cloudy buildup. Your best bet is to thoroughly clean and maybe use a light abrasive/stripper to clean any gunk off the finish before any polish application. And still, try a small test area first before doing the whole floor.
So long as you're using the polish as intended, this is one of the best ways to go about refreshing and concealing minor surface scratches in a urethane floor without needing to do a full sand and recoat. It won't make your floors perfect like the day they were installed

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by JoniC Love Bona Chemi Products!
We have been using Bona Chemi stain and cleaning products since 2007. For the first time, I just used the low gloss polish since my original finish was the same. My floors look amazing and I feel the products do not expose my family to harsh chemicals. Wish I would have known about this polish sooner. Look into hiring a certified Bona Chemi refinishing contractor if your hardwood floors need to be refinished. Mine used a dustless system for the sanding and the down time was minimal.. Cleaning with this system has been a breeze ever since. I couldn't be happier.
