I actually used these to assemble parts of a Halloween setup (makeshift shacks or barriers made of plastic, tarps, or shade cloth), and the price for 25 made it an affordable choice this time around. I anchored Only the heaviest used with rope and stakes. After a severe storm (close to 50mph winds), all but three were still in usable condition, and the broken ones were easily fixed/reinforced with a fiberglass rod zip-tied beside it. This by far exceeds my expectations, as I had figured them all to be broken or useless after the freak storm. I will be considering this purchase again next year, if just to have more.
They are not all the same width, and some are a bit rough, but I expected this even before I had purchased them. Overall, these worked much better than I thought they would, and saved me a lot of money, even with having to reinforce a few.

I purchased these last season in hopes to re-use them each year. They were beautiful for my bean trellis and that I worked very hard to construct. I was very disappointed that only half of them made though to this year still useable. They were stored outside, but under cover. The ones that did not survive split at obvious grain lines. So I'm guessing that the weight stress from the beans and the change in temperature between seasons caused the fractures. I need full size stakes for pole beans, not partials stakes, so these pieces were retired as other vegetable stakes. Not exactly what I had in mind. This year I used Rebar for my bean trellis - I know it will be strong and maintenance free. Considerably more investment for Rebar, but less frustration for me.

I needed stakes and I looked for the best value for 8 foot stakes. Just right!
