Answer:
Lots of sunlight, but no rain as it has a plastic cover. Greenhouses do not allow rain in.

Answer:
The cover is clear allowing an adequate amount of sunlight to enter the greenhouse. You would still need to water your plants depending on what type of plant. The purpose of the greenhouse is to create a humid environment. I hope this helps!

Answer:
Hi NellMontana, the cover can handle 2 inches of snow for about 4 hours and the PVC cover will handle temperatures to 4 below zero. However, as Chris stated, having the greenhouse under cover works against you. Bond Manufacturing.

Hello NelMontana, I’m Chris from the Home Depot’s how-to Community. Thank you for your question.
The simple answer is no. These greenhouses are designed to add a month or so to a short growing season. Once the temps get into the 20s for very long, the inside temps will drop below freezing. Late fall and early spring overnight temps in the 20s can be overcome, but there is no way one can expect to go through winter here in Chicago, let alone Billings, without a heated structure. The covered deck actually works against you since the greenhouse will not get direct sunlight either.
I hope this helps,
Chris.

Customer Reviews

Rated 2.4 out of 5 by 7 reviewers.
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by OK For a Starter Greenhouse Easy to assemble. I bought this as we decided to try growing a few vegetables in a greenhouse. It comes with a clear cover, not green as shown. It isn't very sturdy, but we placed in on a raised bed and secured it to the wood base with zap straps. I've had to place a reflective blanket on it as it gets too hot and it's only May. The plastic along the zippered door has already come apart in two places. Will definitely have to remove the cover over winter. I think as a starting Greenhouse it is just OK. I didn't want to invest a lot of money to start out. If we like growing our own veggies then I will invest in something more durable. May 6, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Not worth the money The greenhouse was easy to assemble and the frame is good. However, the cover is very poor quality. The zipper broke on the first zip and the cover ripped at the seam during tie down. October 3, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Perfect for my needs Not a bad little Greenhouse. It meets my needs. I would recommend this product to others. September 8, 2015
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Not as sturdy as hoped Arrived as promised, easy to assemble but 1 shelf has already broken - disappointing July 21, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Poor Quality. Run from this product! Don't waste your money. Product is flimsy. If you are thinking this is a bargain then just spend more money. The greenhouse material is thin cheap plastic that rips easily.Assembly is awful with a bunch of lego type pieces to put together. Fortunately Home Depot accepted the return with no problem. Look into Spring Gardener Gable Greenhouses.. April 8, 2015
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Good Purchase My disappointment was the Greenhouse I ordered one with a green tint. The one I received was clear no tint at all. The durability is not good I have already had to repair one tear from the wind. April 21, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Portable and Sturdy There are a lot of pieces to put together, but no extra tools are needed and it's fairly easy to put together. The greenhouse is sturdy and large enough to hold several plants in large pots. Right after I put it up, we had a few days below freezing and high winds. The house held up very well and kept the plants protected. It also holds in moisture well so we don't need to water the plants as often. January 1, 2014
