This is a follow-up review. I decided to keep this heater despite my initial concerns about it. I've now had it less than two years and wanted to prep it for the coming cool weather. The formerly attractive base is now flaking and crumbling, most likely from weather exposure, but the company doesn't offer a cover for this odd round top, square bottom heater. And now it seems the thermocouple has failed, so I've had to order a replacement. Falling apart after less than two years?? At this price??? Peachy.

Love this heater! Put on my front porch and height is perfect so that there is plenty of room between it and ceiling. Radiates heat wide enough to warm the whole porch, which has a swing, three chairs and one rocking chair around it. Great to set drinks and food on too. SO happy with this and it looks great too!

This unit looks great and does a decent job...when it worked, which was only for 2 or 3 uses. Tried contacting the manufacturer and received no response the first attempt and an incomplete response the second time. For the amount of money this thing costs they could at least respond. Do yourself a favor and skip this one and get a cheaper model, I've found they work just as well. If I could give this thing zero stars I would as ours is now just an overpriced drink holder.

I'm still trying to decide whether to keep this or not. The best thing it has going for it is looks. The Ignitor is pretty much useless. I took the top off to see if I could adjust the position to improve its performance, but no such luck. So I light the pilot with a match or lighter ahead of time. The wife and I bought it to keep near our hot tub when getting out on chilly/cold Ohio evenings. I feel too much heating effect is lost because it's too tall. There's a "sweet spot" around it where heat is felt well, but beyond that you can hardly tell it's working. Even in 50 degree temps, which I don't consider very cold, you have to be in that sweet spot. Best thing I can say about this unit is that it isn't as ugly as most patio heaters.

Used the heater twice, and then it won't work anymore. We tracked the problem down to the pilot light feeder tube orifice (it is blocked). Repeated attempts to contact the manufacturer have been completely ignored. Just wish I could find a way to get the part.......

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Jt1965 Good heater, warm, but now finish is coming off
have been very happy with this heater since I purchased it last fall, but notice now that it didn't weather the winter well now that we are using it again. Most of the faux granite paint has come off of the top and the base and tos are now slightly flaking. Anyone else noticing this on theirs?

This is a very good patio heater. Nice and toasty at high setting. Seems to use propane fast at high setting. Does not do well in the wind. The wind blows the flame to the side and it does not heat up the grill element very well.

We have a rock house and it looks great in our back yard matching the rock of our house. It is easy to light and warms the area by our chairs. It does not work well in the wind, but we do not go outside when it is windy.
