Customer Questions & Answers

Does the Propane Bottle fit in the pit?

Does the bottle fit under the pit or outside?
Asked by: mabyrd
No. It is remotely mounted from the pit with a long hose.

Can one use glass rocks w this fire pit instead of lava Thank you

Asked by: Sue
If you use glass you should follow the following; first shake out the lava in a colander to get all the little dust out so as not to clog the burner, then put down the lava. Use large chunky fire glass rather than the small glass. This will allow better air/gas flow whereas the small glass could choke your fire. After putting down a layer of large chunky fireglass you can add smaller decorative pieces on top but beware not to let any of the small peices get into the bottom or they can choke out your flame. For the best look, a layer of lava rock, followed by large chunky fire glass and a sprinkling of smaller medium sized fire diamonds on top. A nice mound makes a pretty look but be sure to keep a hole clear where the igniter area is so the gas can flow freely.

Can the unit work with the smaller propane tanks?

Apartments in this area do not allow the larger propane tanks.
Asked by: matt
I am using a 20# tank like you would use on your grill and it works fine.

Way to hide the tank underneath?

If I put the feet of the table up on some paver stones, to raise the overall height of the table, would I be able to fit the tank underneath the table? (Does the fire pan go down too low / wide under the table to be able to fit the tank this way)? Also - about how many inches would I have to raise it to get the 20lb propane tank to fit?
Asked by: TankHider
No way to hide a tank underneath, it is only the size of a coffee table, but the gas line is very long. We were able to hide a propane tank off the patio behind some bushes.

Marbella 34 in. Square Stainless Steel Propane Fire Pit is rated 3.8 out of 5 by 13.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good but can't fit tank under unit. This is a really cool fire pit but the description said it took a 20lb tank of propane but once we put it together and went to hook up the tank we realized there is no possible way to fit the 20 lb tank under the unit so it must be placed by the side instead...and who wants to do that? Not very convenient at all because we have to hook the tank up every time we use it so the cord (gas tube) isn't in the way for dogs to get or people to trip over or step on. Outside of that, it works great and puts off a substantial amount of heat and looks pretty cool:) But the gas tank part makes it impractical for us so I can't say I'd do it again.

Easy assembly, leveled it up, spread lava rocks around the outside of the fire ring (being sure to keep the air intake clear) and spread fire glass inside the fire ring... really nice way to spend an evening, warmed by the fire pit, enchanted by the fireglass, chatting, a sipping a favorite drink. Nice addition to our patio

Agree with many comments TS about splattered paint, just not necessary, adds nothing. Like the top woodgrain appearance. A little tricky too light, not quite like a grill. Just read instructions entirely.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from unhappy after just one tank of propane used I purchased this table less than a year ago and have used only one tank of propane. Recently it has begun giving me problems keeping it lit. You have to push the knob in to light it and are supposed to hold the knob in for 20-30 seconds and then turn it to the flame height and let go of the knob. However when I let go of the knob all gas stops flowing and the fire goes out. no matter how long I hold the knob in or where I turn the flame adjust to, it still wont stay lit. The igniter hasn't worked since day one so we just use a lighter. A month after owning the pit we noticed tiny rust spots all over the outer body of the table and we had always kept it covered. The top surface, (table mantle) was scratched right out of the box and has continued to scratch easily. Very poor quality overall. I called Home Depot and they said I should call Bond. I called Bond and left messages and no one will call me back. I am not happy with this table, Home Depot or Bond Mfg and would not recommend anyone make this purchase.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I love it I searched for the best overall value and found this online. I wanted a fire pit that was no more than 20" tall, but didn't to spend over $300. This is a very study metal unit. The perimeter of the fire pit that surrounds the lava rocks is steel, but gives the appearance of wood with its wood grain embossment. I have it under an outdoor patio, but it is heavy duty material and would probably hold up well in the elements as long as you use the cover that is provided to keep rain from pooling in the fire pit pan. Very glad that I picked this one.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Nice appliance Paint splatter on frame. Two of the brackets don't line up to secure too to the base. Otherwise Wonderful purchase

Rated 3 out of 5 by from very sturdy and good size, but didn't know that the propane tank sat outside the pit. We returned it for that reason. In the pictures of it and in the description, it never said or showed that the propane tank sat outside of the pit itself. We didn't want to have to build a table or something to hide the tank. We felt that it should have said or pictured that somewhere. Other than that it looked to be a good product.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from So far so good Pros- This fire pit seems to be made very well. It's very heavy duty and is very easy to put together. The top wood look is awesome and it starts and burns good so far. Cons- The tank doesn't fit under the table so you'll have to hide it somehow. 10 foot gas line so Its easy to do, just gotta think before ya buy it. Also comes with 2 small boxes of rocks, they are ok but a 3rd box would have been better to hide the burner. They also put a giant sticker right on top of the wood looking part so you have to get the hair dryer out and heat it up before ya peel it off or you'll spend an hour peeling the sticker off. Also, they have rust color paint splattered on the black metal part for some reason... Not very noticeable but seems dumb to even put thwm there. I listed way more cons than pros but just wanted to be thorough and let people know exactly what to expect. I'm very happy with the pit and would buy it again in a heartbeat.
