It was effective for one hour, and then the squirrels figured there way around the owl. It did provide some entertainment watching them try to figure out the new "predator" in their area. Two weeks later, their now eating the fruits from the tree sitting next to the "decoy".
Moving the owl does reset the whole process, but it doesn't keep them or any other creature away...unless you have the time to keep moving it every few hours.
Otherwise, it provides good entertainment if your a nature lover and love watching the squirrels and birds try to decipher this decoy.

This just didn't scare the birds off (robins). The head didn't bob unless it was a really strong wind and then it fell over. Not happy with it, maybe it will work with some other birds, but not with the robins.

Last year, birds took over my porch, nesting above the columns and on my light fixture. This year, I'm not putting up with it!
