Answer:
Absolutely! The retailer is correct, you will only need about 10 - 15 lbs. of the half inch size, which needs to be placed over the lava rock. If you have any other questions, feel free to contact us at 1.866.771.2663 Monday - Friday from 8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. PST, or you may email us at Happy2Help@Bondmfg.com. Stay warm!

You don't have to use the lava rock if you don't want to. It's packaged seperately.

Hi David.
Thank you for your great question.
I spoke with a representative from Bond Manufacturing who stated that they recommend you use about an inch of lava rock on the bottom as long as the lava rock is at least ½ in in diameter. Anything smaller could clog the small orafices on the burner.
Once the lava rock base has been added you can put the fire glass on top. The lava rock as a base works Read More

Once the lava rock base has been added you can put the fire glass on top. The lava rock as a base works better due to the porus nature of the material. Solid fire glass does not provide enough air for the propane burner.
Have a great holiday and please let us know if we can be of further assistance.

Answer:
Hi Donna, this shouldn't be a problem. We advise that you operate the unit in a well ventilated area and maintain an overhead clearance of about 6 feet. So, if you feel that your gazebo follows our guidelines, feel free to use the fire pit in it! If you have any other questions for us, we're available at 1.866.771.2663 Monday - Friday from 8 am - 4:30 pm PST, or you can always email us at Read More

Answer:
I would because the flame height is controllable. I would probably run it really low. However, I would urge you to ask the manufacturer the same question for an official answer. Hope this helps... It's a very nice unit. If I did it over again, I would not use the lava rocks and use a glass filler instead. The lava rocks are a little dusty.

Well, that didn't answer the question. I read "brown" in the product description. The question is...is the product the same, darker, or light than the stock photo.? (As compared to the pictures submitted by consumers in their reviews)

Rated 3.8 out of 5 by 73 reviewers.
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Not happy The top was water stained and I bought it on sale then I received the bill HD charged the full price October 25, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Beautiful product; very poor design This fire pit is most attractive piece I have seen yet. So I was very sad when it arrived with a cracked top. The travertine tile top is very thin. I decided not to order a replacement; anything dropped on the surface could cause a crack; it would not last long. October 11, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great Very happy with the fire pit, it's nicer looking than the picture. The only blemish is the table top has a few dull spots, not sure if there is a way to fix that. But overall it's great. October 11, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Love This Table I tried to upload a picture...this is great for the price, there is nothing better. I don't expect it to rust easily since the base is essentially concrete and the top granite vaneer. It's extremely sturdy and very attractive. We added a layer of turquoise glass over the lava rocks and the look is awesome. Looks like it cost more than it did. October 9, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Junk I was very disappointed after opening the box to find the cabinet portion of this fire pit severely cracked on 3 sides. The mantle was chipped & cracked as well. Learn my lesson, buy American made ! October 11, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Fire pit The fire pit itself seems very nice and produces a lot of heat and nice looking, adjustable flame. I purchased this product because of its larger size, stainless steel burner, and higher heat output. August 30, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Just what we were looking for This product was delivered well packaged but when we opened it there were places on two sides where the paint was scratched, I would contend that it was done prior to packaging. Other than that we are thrilled with the firepit table, I only wish they would included touch-up paint for any scratches on the table. We had no problem with setting it up in fact my husband had it burning within a matter of minutes. Everyone loves the look and quality of the firepit table and we are happy to show it off. I really wanted to give this table a 5 but because of the scratches I could not declare it excellent. July 19, 2016
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Look nice We picked this up on Friday 6/10 from home depot, when we got it home and took it out of the box it looked great, once it was put in place the sun was hitting it , we notice that the top had 4 different places the finish either had come of or after the finish was done there was tape put across before it had dried and we have 4 very large spot that are not finished and it bring down the look and the quality of it. Since we had to pick it up I hate to have to take back to the store and order another one wish there was a way we could get it fixed. I do like the look and how it came assembled, it works very nice. The top is really the only flaw. June 14, 2016
