Product Overview

This Bonnie Chives plant is an easy to grow onion-flavored herb that produces grass-like clumps and lavender blooms. This is typically a perennial herb for most of the country, in zones 3-10. Use snips of these to add a green onion flavor to salads, creamy soups, potatoes, egg dishes and other recipes. Great for containers and also makes a neat border. Enjoy the light purple blooms in the spring - they are edible, too. Plant arrives in a biodegradable pot with a well-established root system and hardened off for easy transplanting in the garden.

  • Chives pack lots of mild onion flavor
  • Provide beautiful interest to the landscape
  • Ships in a 4 in. plant-able, biodegradable pot by jiffy
  • Plant spacing: 8 in. - 12 in. apart, mature size: 12 in. tall

Customer Reviews

4.5 in. Chives is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 2.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good solid chives I grow these in indirect sun on a balcony in a small pot. They grow nicely and last well into early fall. During a heat wave I recommend bringing them inside - they do get a bit scorched if the temp is 90+ for a few days in a row.
