Product Overview

Our exclusive Heinz Super Roma Tomato plant offers all the benefits of meaty Roma fruits with one additional benefit: these tomatoes have a bright crimson flesh that contains lycopene, a healthful antioxidant. Use these nutrition-rich fruits for making sauces, slow-roasting, grilling, or canning. Plants thrive in many regions, from dry desert to high humidity and adapt well to growing in large containers. Fruits keep well on the vines and are very crack resistant. Though vines are 3 ft. to 4 ft., stake plants for the best support and easy harvesting. Plant arrives in a biodegradable pot with a well-established root system and hardened off for easy transplanting in the garden.

  • A nutrition-packed heinz roma that is great for sauces
  • Plant spacing: 36 in. apart in conventional rows, 24 in. to 30 in. in intensive gardens or 1 plant per 18 in. - 24 in. container
  • Resistant to verticillium wilt (V), fusarium wilt (F), nematodes (N), phytophthora blight and tomato spotted wilt virus (SWV)
  • Ships in a 4 in. plant-able, biodegradable pot by jiffy

I have be going to the Olathe, KS local stores to see if they are available. Store associates mentioned I might be able to ask customer service to order them online for me. Would this work or can you give me an idea as to when they would be available for order.

Customer Reviews

Rated 1.5 out of 5 by 2 reviewers.
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Very disappointed I am extremely disappointed with the tomatoes of this plant. All the tomatoes are getting blossom end rots.I planted other veggies( cherry tomatoes, pepper and chilli plant) using the same soil, fertilizer and watering technique and they r all doing great. I invested on calcium fertilizer further but it was of no use. Not a value for money. June 13, 2016
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Didn't get many good ones I found the same to be true as the previous reviewer. They are not very disease resistant. Mine were very susceptible to blossom end rot and I lost many when green or just turning red. The plants themselves did well and I got lots of green tomatoes. My other tomatoes (not Roma) did fine growing right next to these. Maybe they require some special care or fertilizer, idk. I'd say i lost more than half to rot. Those that did make it were nice and big and meaty. They are bigger than average Roma’s. It's a shame, because they are very nice tomatoes when they make it. If anyone knows how to fix this problem please post. I grew them over the summer of 2016 here in Maryland (Washington D.C area). In my opinion the growing conditions were very good this summer. I did apply Serenade to keep the leaf spot away and it worked pretty well for all my tomatoes. I tried balance fertilizers and ones with higher phosphate. I also kept the weeds down well with cardboard covered with grass clippings. August 22, 2016
