Product Overview

Our Bonnie Husky Cherry Red tomato plant is perfect for a container garden or small space. This super sweet cherry tomato is a best seller because of its flavor, productivity and good looks. The vines are dwarf indeterminate, making them short and husky like a determinate type between 3 ft. and 4 ft., yet they yield clusters of tasty little cherry tomatoes in a small space over a long period of time. The dwarf vines stay neat and compact, but do give the plant a little support on a stake or cage to keep it upright in rain and wind. Plant arrives in a biodegradable pot with a well-established root system and hardened off for easy transplanting in the garden.

  • Cherry tomato perfect for pots
  • Plant spacing: 36 in. apart in conventional rows, 24 in. to 30 in. in intensive gardens or one plant per 18 in. - 24 in. container
  • Ships in a 4 in. plant-able pot
  • Biodegradable pot by jiffy

I have had great success in the past growing them on my condo patio. This year none made it. They grew high and got the little yellow flowers and then started wilting from the bottom of the plant. One stem at a time. I changed the containers as I read it might be a bug. I even bought new dirt but they did the same thing. My neighbors were so disappointed and me to. I even tried other nurseries thinking It was their fault.
I am afraid to buy them again, I usually start in Sept when I get the sun on my porch.
By the way, everything else grew fine, herbs and such but not my tomatoes.
Can you help?
I even tried Juliette tomatoes also but they flourished and then died also. Thanks for any help
Sandy

Rated 5.0 out of 5 by 3 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Husky Cherry Tomato I purchased four of these plants from Home Depot in the early Spring and kept them under grow lights until after the last frost here in Massachusetts. I planted them using my regular garden soil, in an area that typically receives sunshine from 8:00 A.M. until 7:00 P.M. I sprinkled a tablespoon of Epsom Salt and 10-10-10 fertilizer and, as the soil warmed up, the plants took off. As they grew, I supplemented feedings with a soil soup ( one shovelful of yard soil in a five gallon container of rain water) every so often. As a result, I have four high yield plants, producing an abundance of beautiful, red tomatoes. They are unblemished and are resistant to splitting after a rain. In the past, I have had problems with blight, but these seem to be resistant. The most important thing is that my wife likes them so much that she now prefers them to the sweetness of grape tomatoes. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by best cherry tomatoes Planted two of these in October and got hundreds of cherry tomatoes from December until late March. Didn't realize how big the plants would grow, though so this year I'll be prepared with a better trellis. October 3, 2015
