When stepping in and once in the tub, is there any give in the bottom, or is it rock solid like cast iron? I am replacing a steel tub that gives with every step--hate it.

Answer:
The Bootzcast tub comes with a full length leveling/support pad. This supports the bottom of the tub. When installed correctly, there will be no flex in the bottom of the tub. It will support up to 300 lbs.

Answer:
um.. how much weight? i weigh 165 lbs and it does not. was climbing on it loaded with tool belt and everything probably weight 200 lbs and it was fine. my two kids will be the main ones using it for bath time. and it does not give under there combined 60 lbs weight. but if you have a 350 lb person taking a shower daily, might invest in a cast iron one.

Can a glass panel be installed on top of outside edge of this tub--instead of a shower curtain? The glass would attach at one side and at ceiling.

Please be advised, standard glass shower doors and shower curtains are the most popular installation on all Bootz bathtubs. Standard shower doors and shower curtains are manufactured professionally and designed to comply with industry standards. Bootz Industries recommends using products that comply with these standards.

Customer Reviews

Rated 3.7 out of 5 by 58 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Slightly shorter than advertised but what isn't these days? Easy to install. Holds water. It's a bathtub. Works great! May 24, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great value for the money Consulted some YouTube videos from "tilemasterga". By following his recommendations I had no problems installing this product, and it looks great and I have no reason to believe it won't last for years to come. Don't cut corners. insure your walls are square and you level the product properly, then you won't be disappointed. April 9, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Poor quality porcelain. We have had this tub less than 2 years and it is only used when we have guests. Total times used maybe a dozen times. It now has at least 5 pits on the surface that goes through to the black metal. The trouble with a poor quality tub is that it is very difficult to remove when the walls are tile. We are going to see if we can get it recoated. August 21, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Yuck...white has dingy look Call me picky, but I expect my new white tub to be close to as white as the toilet and sink. Nope this tub is off-white, just short of almond. Contractor had to bring the label off the box because I was sure he'd purchased wrong tub. Yep... and it did get chipped during installation, Very bad purchase all the way around, July 12, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Poory designed - Don't buy Many problems with this tub, Home Depot should stop selling it. Here are all the problems I had. Overflow hole is a little too small and not at the standard angle. A standard overflow drain pipe does not fit properly. The insulation is too thick around the overflow and bottom drain holes, has to be cut away. The back top edge was bowed out by 1/2" in the middle. The installation instructions require a 2x4 support under the left side and back edges of the tub, but the insulation is not tight against the tub, so the 2x4 really does nothing. After modifications, I got the tub secured in place with the drain connected, when I discovered a flaw in the porcelain finish. It did not show when I first unpacked the tub. Now I have to patch the chip. I will never buy another BOOTZCAST product. I went back to the store and talked to the plumbing associate, he said they have lots of problems with BOOTZCAST tubs and agreed that Home Depot needs to stop carrying them. July 15, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Awesome, Easy To install This product was great. Lightweight, and pretty durable. I mean, don't jump on it. but the fiberglass backing on it is a huge plus. i got a cheaper tub before this one and took it back cause it was awful. This one i had to put in and out a few times to make sure the back bar was level and it is so light it wasn't a problem. Obviously not as durable as a solid cast iron tub, but for a cheaper option and much much lighter. November 17, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by EXTREMELY frustrated We didn't even get to try to install one of these tubs. I had read all the bad reviews, but was hopeful that maybe ours would be one of the 5 star products. When my installer took the first one out of the box, we found the surface near the drain to be defective and we saw a nick on the porcelain on the apron. He took that one back and had to go to a different store to find more. There he opened two more only to find defects. As another reviewer commented, that has to make you wonder about the quality of the product and/or quality control at that manufacturer. Home Depot needs to reconsider stocking this item. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Very nice tub! This tub was so easy to install, it "dropped right in" to the old spot and leveled itself! Only problem is, 3 days later our brand new glass shower doors fell off the track and one of them smashed into a billion pieces inside the tub and took a large chip the size of a quarter out of the bottom. I was able to fill it with liquid steel, but I can't find a porcelain paint to cover the patched area as the tub is not "pure white" but just slightly off white.....otherwise, one of our best purchases for the new bathroom and it looks great with the beautiful new tile!!
