Customer Questions & Answers

does this tub need mortar to level??

Asked by: Anonymous
There is no foam pad on this tub. Also, when set, there is about a 2" or more gap. I would still dump down a bag of durabond for added protection. You get a 300 pounder in there, and the porcelain will flex and develop cracks, then rust. I like the old, non-sandable durabond in the brown bag, not the "lite" for this application. Staple down some roofing felt first, so that the next guy doesn't curse your name.

is there a drain kit for this tub/

i am replacing a standard tub with this one. Is there a way to make sure the drain lines up to the drain pipe sice its shorter?

you can buy a PVC trap kit where you cut and glue 1 1/2" PVC to make a tub drain. You can extend the drain to your current trap this way. It's actually better as you don't have any mechanical connections (slip joints).
