Customer Questions & Answers

does this tub need mortar to level??

Asked by: Anonymous
There is no foam pad on this tub. Also, when set, there is about a 2" or more gap. I would still dump down a bag of durabond for added protection. You get a 300 pounder in there, and the porcelain will flex and develop cracks, then rust. I like the old, non-sandable durabond in the brown bag, not the "lite" for this application. Staple down some roofing felt first, so that the next guy doesn't curse your name.

is there a drain kit for this tub/

i am replacing a standard tub with this one. Is there a way to make sure the drain lines up to the drain pipe sice its shorter?

you can buy a PVC trap kit where you cut and glue 1 1/2" PVC to make a tub drain. You can extend the drain to your current trap this way. It's actually better as you don't have any mechanical connections (slip joints).

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not for me. Too thin. Unit arrived with dents and bends all over. It was shipped loose in a cardboard box with no styrofoam or packing. The tub itself is really thin and dents easily. If you were able to get an unblemished unit, we're tight on space, and didn't mind the low quality, I guess the unit would work. Not for me.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Everything Made nowadays is junk at high price!!! It's a decent tub at least it's a metal one with porcelain spray over it but it's still super thin and chips very easy it just seems like nothing nowadays is made the way it used to old tubs back in the sixties even in the seventies when you bought the same type of metal tub with porcelain spray over it it lasted a lifetime never chipped and it was thick and heavy now they're super Lite super thin bend super easy and just everything nowadays is made like junk and they want to charge high prices it's ridiculous in this country are ready we need some products that are made in USA and made actually with some some quality and care!!!!!!!! Not just trying to cut costs and make the biggest bottom line profits!!!!! Can'tstand the const. Industry now how do you tell your clients you do the job for, ""Everything is made like junk now!!! Home depot needs to boycott all CHINA, & TIAWAN manufactures period. For the price Ipaid there should be more than thin like sheet metal, and a thin 1 coat of porcelain spray. I assume Iwill have to remodel in another 5- 7 yrs.........but Iwill not be buying from Lowe's or home depot. They both carry over priced home owner handyman type junk supplies. Nothing lasts anymore!!!!!!!!

All three were damaged but I was able to hide the damage on the last one. The shipping containers seemed to be in good condition and the location of the damage would indicate the damage was not caused during shipment. It would seem you have a quality control issue. If I could have found a different supplier at an acceptable price, I would have gone elsewhere. Your poor quality control delayed my project by a month. Imagine a family of five not having a bathroom a month longer than necessary.

We now have three of these in our 4-plex with small bathrooms in each apartment. They fit the 4' width of the bathrooms perfectly. They are good quality and look nice. The only problem is that the shipping box does not adequately protect the face of the tub, so our first tub arrived damaged, we re-ordered, and when the second tub arrived damaged we had to use it because of time constraints. Home Depot treated us well, and we feel OK because we were compensated, though we would have preferred to pay full price and have an undamaged tub.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from 48" tub for low price :) Installed by professional plumber; no problems. They said it was average quality. The bottom is gritty which is bad attempt at non-skid. But other than that, it's a 48" tub that is only 27" wide for a good price. We used it to convert a half bath to a full. We ordered it to arrive at the local Home Depot store; no shipping charge. First one we got home and it had enamel missing; returned it no problem. Second one the store opened the box and it was fine. We stored it in garage for 2 months until time to install and no more enamel fell off; think it was shipping damage on the 1st one. Pic is from unfinished project, but you can see the tub was fine.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Chipped and yellowish I wish I had the choice to chose any other tub but I needed a 46inch tub and this is was my only choice. Many people noted that the tub often comes chipped and that is true, so you should order 2 just in case and take the one that is less damaged.. The color of the tub isn't clear white but a cream yellowish color that doesn't match my toilet and vanity... Avoid this product if you can.

Like a lot of other reviews I read and ignored, The product came chipped, two sizable chips in the enamel. Because there is not much of a selection in 4' tubs and the price is very reasonable and time is of the essence I am keeping it. I will repair it with a white epoxy. I would only recommend this if you are tolerant person.
