I thought I saw a question for this tub to get maximum soaking depth and I thought a specific drain or overflow was suggested? Or is there another tub that is deeper?

Tessa,
Drain / Overflows are pretty standard. Home Depot offers many tubs available online and in stock.
The Mauicast is the Deepest - Porcelain on Steel tub in the market. If your looking for deeper, you may want to look at fiberglass or acrylic tubs.
Good luck with your project.

Two questions please: Is the 16.75" height to the flat portion of the tub or the top of the flange? Can I use a high level water drain to pick up a couple more inches to the soaking depth? Thanks.

Answer:
Tedster.
The overall height of the tub is 16 5/8" tall (to the "seat") of the tub (the portion you step over when getting in) The tile flange would add another inch to the above dimensions.
Yes, you can go with a high level water drain.
Good luck, and please post pictures of completed project

Do you make a higher quality version of the Maui cast with thicker enamel? I would pay more for better quality.

Staff at Home Depot let me know the product is usually chipped in the box. My salesman said he recently had to open five boxes to find ONE not chipped. The display model was even chipped as was one for sale. Salesman said the steel is so thin that even if it's not chipped when installed it can flex and chip later. I've been researching alcove tubs and this really looks like the dream tub for me given my remodel space. Great depth, actual angle to fit a relaxing back instead of in the "upright and locked position" of an airplane seat. I want the quality of steel and enamel, not the cheesy flash of acrylic. I have a cleaning service. Modern tubs tend to attract soap scum, stain and some crack. This country is full of homes with small bathrooms needing quality remodeling. The Maui is an awesome looking tub and I would LOVE one and am willing to pay more to know the enamel will not be chipping after I tile the enclosure.

Porcelain steel tubs are Very Durable once they are installed, and will last 10's of years, if properly cared for. The biggest problem is the handling practices of the Home Depot, and the multiple times the product is handled (not in the best of ways) before it gets to the stores. It is a "steel tub", that should be treated like a glass tub (it is not forklift and clamp truck friendly). We do ship these tubs across the country to other customers with much less issues. The Mauicast is a great tub, Over 2" deeper than other steel tubs on the market.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by damaged. OPEN at store! spent all day going to 4 different home depots opening boxes. each one was dinged, dented, or the enamel was not applied correctly. the 9 tub boxes i opened did not include 2 more supplied by the homeowner saturday and sunday previous. so, thats 11 tubs to go through to get ONE decent tub. whoever is in charge of packaging/shipping/receiving at the company which makes these tubs and at home d should go to work for the government because they couldnt find their way out of a paper bag. Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Damage on arrival Very disappointed, we ordered this tub which put our bathroom remodel behind schedule. Tub arrived and we didn't open it at the store, save yourself the trouble and open it before you leave with it! Plumber actually found a "bubble" in the tub that I didn't see. which is a potential problem later on. This wasn't available in our local stores so I didn't bother to order again. I literally opened 6 different bathtubs trying to find one without damage. Never did find one without damage somewhere. A plumber suggested we get a patch kit, how messed up is it that, for you have to patch a brand new tub! Save your money don't order this tub, insulate it yourself... It's much cheaper to do it and less time consuming only to order and be disappointed. July 5, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Wrong sizing dimensions We haven't had the chance to use the tub yet since our bathroom is stil being build so I cannot comment on the quality of the tub. I was however very disappointed with the sizing. We had a new bathroom built and were told to get a 5ft tub that would fit perfectly from wall to wall. When the tub went in our contractor had a build a 2 inch thick wall behind the tub (which does not look good since it sticks out from the rest of the wall). The tub measures at 57 1/2" instead of the stated 60" At first we thought it was a contractor mistaken however measuring the tub has shown it to be a product error. Since the walls are tiled and the bathroom is nearly complete we have to keep it but we are less that satisfied with the faulty tub sizing since our bathroom was build specifically to accommodate a 60" tub. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great tub Easy install - good amount of space inside compared to last 60'" tub - can fit all 3 of my kids in there age 7,5 & 2. No slip bottom is legit. Nice white , nice finish. June 24, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by The right choice. The tub arrived in excellent condition. It was a replacement tub for a bathroom remodel. It fit perfect and I am told the install was fairly simple. I love the fact it is made in the USA. I have already enjoyed it numerous times. I also love the fact it is insulated and holds the water temperature well. I get out when I am ready. Instead of, when water gets cold and I had to get out in previous tubs. The depth of the is good but you can make it great by getting an overflow cover to get a few more inches of water. I have no regrets and I made the decision to purchase this Bootz tub. July 28, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Very poor quality. It has ruined our new bath! We should have known that this was a bad purchase when we had to return the first tub because it was chipped. We returned it and did not notice any flaws until it was installed and tile was in place around it. The porcelain is so thin you can see all 'barb'? work inside the tub, and it has a chip om the bottom edge that has rusted. Our new bath is less than a year old and this one tub has ruined the entire job! It is a big mistake! October 8, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by POOR QUALITY, I Should have listened!!!! So I read the reviews and this tub and thought, meh, worth a gamble. First one came with a big chunk out of the side and the white porcelain was so think on the top you could see the black coating underneath. So I returned it, second tub came, same issue. Plus the bottom felt like sandpaper. So my bathroom project is now 3 weeks behind. I should have listened to the reviews. NOT AGAIN. The tub is garbage and there must be zero quality control when they make these cause I am baffled as to how something so poorly made gets boxed. (face palm). Learn from my mistake, buy something else. May 26, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by chipped out of the box, twice I bought the tub, got it home, my guy took it out of the box, and it was chipped. We exchanged it, opened the top at the store to try to make sure it wasn't chipped, took it home, opened the box more, and it was chipped under the stryofoam where we couldn't see, in the exact same spot as the chip on the first tub. I will not be using this manufacturer again and this time will return and not exchange it. August 25, 2015
