CUSTOMER REVIEWS

Rated 4.7 out of 5 by 24 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great tool with versatility Bought this hammer drill to drill and mount my ledger board for my deck. Delivered great power and speed in drilling threw my brick veneer which is 4" thick brick. Drills fast and clean holes with the bits I purchased. Also bought a demo pick and chisel which both worked great for the job they were used for. If you are looking for a lite duty demo/rotary hammer drill this is it. Don't expect to demo out a sidewalk without pushing this tool! April 19, 2015
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by versatile with the ability to switch I used the tool mainly to remove a stone wall around my fireplace. I used the hammer drill and drove in wedges to break up the concrete as well as just the hammer. It work well in the lighter wall but in the thicker base it took more time. April 7, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by THIS DRILL ROCKS! AWESOME! I had never used a real hammer drill before. Not sure why. I wanted to split an overhanging end of a granite step, so I ordered some 1/2" feathers and wedges and borrowed a neighbor's Bosch Bulldog drill. OMG! That was so easy I couldn't believe it. I just had to get one for myself. I didn't do too much research, but I did discover that the "1-1/8" size is the maximum drill bit size that the drill is rated for. I don't know what material they rate that in (concrete?), but it's all relative, so the larger the more powerful the drill is. This drill seemed like a good price point for me and I liked the vertical format over the horizontal of the Bulldog. I've now drilled and split a number of granite blocks, some 10" thick using this drill and a 1/2" carbide bit (Bosch HCFC2081 1/2-Inch by 4-Inch by 6-Inch SDS-plus X5L Drill Bit). I've also drilled and split a number of foundation stones in front of my barn so that I could cozy a large granite landing up to the sill. . Those were difficult to split, but each hole only took about 30 seconds to drill. I bought a longer carbide drill for future rock work. Let me assure you that this drill and a 1/2" carbide bit will drill a four inch hole in a stone or a block of granite in 30 seconds. I drill 18 holes down the middle of a six foot block in a matter of minutes. What's more, there's no need to push on the drill. I just hold it upright and let the weight of the drill and the hammer action do all the work! This means you can work for hours drilling with no fatigue. I also used the chisel action to remove a 100 square foot area of pavement with an asphalt/stone underlayment. For that i used a chisel (Bosch HS1470 SDS Plus Viper Long Life Chisel). I think this was pushing it for the drill. It's not really a jackhammer, of course. I got the job done, but it took quite a while and was a tiring job. The chisel bit sacrificed its life for the job, as well. My neighbor says it should have been easier with a pick, but it's too late for me to know. I don't think you should expect a drill this size to handle hard code chiseling demo work. The SDS PLUS chuck is "ok". It's a bit tricky to get the bit seated, but it's not enough of a problem to influence my recommendation. I didn't realize there's an SDS MAX chuck. Not sure if it's just in more expensive drills, but it might be worth a look for you. I think bit price and availability should play a big role in your decision of chuck, though. July 26, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by great german made rotary drill I once thought a hammer drill was a hammer drill, till I tried to drill through my 11inch thick foundation. You definately need a rotary drill for this application. 35minutes with a noral hammer drill turned into under a minute with this one. Like the hilti i used to use at work, but not the size a jackhammer. Solid product that has exceeded my expectations, for a great price for what you get. September 4, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Fast and Powerfull I have always used the rotary setting on a regular drill or rented a Bosch hammer drill. I have a lot of earthquake tiedowns and mudsill bolts to install soon so I figured I should buy my own hammerdrill. I have only drilled a dozen or so holes with it and it has saved a lot of time and effort and allows for more precise drilling. Should have bought it sooner. December 11, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by never go back to a regular hammer drill I am amazed at how fast you can drill into concrete vs a regular run of the mill hammer drill July 25, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great hammer drill Just finished using this tool for the second time. First time I used it to mount 8" anchors in basement walls for a stair landing platform. Used it two days ago the second time to bust through a block foundation wall for a crawlspace access. Good tool for the money. May 19, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Perfect Before this product, I have been using, cordless 18 Volt hammer drills and electric heavy duty hammer drills and came to the belief that drilling through concrete was a time consuming job. Then I bought the Bosch rotary hammer drill, I cannot believe how fast this drills through concrete, a ten minute at times job has literally turned into 20 to 30 seconds!!! This has been one of my best tool purchases, its light enough that it can be used with one hand for wall drilling if needed. March 29, 2014
