Yes it can! I purchased this bit to do the same thing. However I would strongly advise you to use the bit in a drill press. This would likely be a very challenging task to keep a hand drill steady enough to make an effective hole.

Answer:
The standard purchased bit is not long enough to drill all the way through a 4" glass block from one side. Since most glass blocks are hollow in the middle you could drill a hole in both sides that line up with one another. You can also use an extension bit it the hole you desire is at least 1/2" so that the width of an extension bit clears the hole you are boring.

Answer:
Thank you for your question. We would recommend a diamond hole saw bit like the HDG12 for drilling into a Corian blacksplash.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Perfect I had to drill 1/2" holes through ceramic tile in my bathroom to install a double shower curtain rod. I'd not used this type of bit before and was looking for a standard masonry bit. However I saw this and liked the point to keep it from wandering. It worked flawlessly. I drilled 4 holes through tile, hardiboard, then drywall. Each were perfect. I drilled at slow speed with mild pressure. I wet the tip periodically with water. This is common sense to me. It keeps things cooled down and acts as a lubricant. This bit performed great. Use as directed with common sense and you'll be very successful! June 20, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Drill bit performed very well Used to drill hole in cast iron sink with white porcelain. No chipping, round smooth hole for drinking water faucet. April 19, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good bit, hard pots Bil was easy to use and it fit the drill correctly. Hard ceramic takes time to drill. May 3, 2016
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Does not performed as should It broke the porcelain tile half way through doing the hole January 26, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Perfect for Tile I used this to install a Kohler Hydrorail. The last thing I wanted was for it to wander or chip/crack my bathroom tile. After talking to a HD rep, he recommended this bit. You need to follow the directions and run it slow. It took me about 5 minutes to drill out four holes. The best part about the design is it literally does not wander. It started and stayed directly on my mark then made a clean/crisp hole. November 22, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by The wifes happy My wife is doing a craft using wine bottles she wanted me to drill holes in bottle to put mini lights in them ..went got a glass bit at harbor freight It took forever due to fact it would overheat bottle and crack so u had to do it in intervals with bosch bit it's fast no stopping no cracks happy wife happy husband lol October 6, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by For Glass and Tile...Worthless! I needed to drill 2 holes into each of 2 ceramic outdoor planters to assist in draining rain water. This bit is marked specifically for glass and tile...Well, there's an abundance of ceramic tiles out there, so I see no difference in a ceramic planter. The only good thing I have to say about the bit when new, is the claim of no skip hole starting actually works...That's where the good ends. Max drilling speed for this bit is rated below 2,000 rpm. As a result, I had my drill on the low setting around 870 rpm. I found that I was unable to drill halfway through the first hole! When I looked at the bit, the sharp point was worn down, and the sides were worn inwards toward the shank. This bit was now useless. I ended up drilling all 4 holes with a concrete bit. Although the concrete bit is not intended for this job, it did the trick, unlike this Bosch bit. This bit has no strength to it whatsoever. I have absolutely no idea what you’d be able to actually drill with this bit. Not recommended. Look for a different bit that will actually accomplish what it’s purposed for. This is not it!
