can i use this bit for tapcon anchors?

You need to get the right size for the Tapcons you're using but other than that it will work. I got one for use with Tapcons and it worked well.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from much better than Tapcon bit I thought Tapcon bits would be good since their screws are so respected for Concrete. Do yourself a favor and get the Bosch to start. a much better bit.

No masonry bit lasts forever, but this is good quality steel and seems to holds up well. I just needed it to drill holes in our exterior brick for some sleeve anchors to mount a hose real. Did the job with no problem, drove into the brick fairly easily on hammer mode and did a decent job of clearing dust and debris from the holes at the same time, and after a half-dozen holes, the bit still looks good. The little ridges on the edge of the shank (Bosch markets them as "PowerGrip," or something like that) do seem to help keep the bit from slipping in the chuck. Overall, very satisfied with the purchase. Bosch makes predictably good stuff, and the price was reasonable.

Before I didn't know there was a difference between a hammer drill bit and a masonry drill bit. I have been using the wrong drill bits in the past and it took forever to drill holes into the concrete, and the drill bits kept coming off the drill even after I tightened it. I was building a storage shed, with this hammer drill bit I was able to drill holes after holes without any problems.

Only 5/32" masonry drill bit I could find in the store that indicated it could be used with a hammer drill was this one which was quite a bit longer than I needed to drive in some tapcons. I was a bit worried because it was so thin and long I thought it would snap. Was able to drill through concrete as well as porcelain tiles over concrete. For all the holes I had to pass through some framing lumber first which wasn't an issue. I used a cordless hammer drill with the hammer setting on. The holes in the concrete were easy to make. The ones in the porcelain tile took longer to get started but once they did the holes went in fine. I was pressing down harder over the porcelain to get it going and the bit didn't snap and still looks like it's in good condition after drilling about 10 holes split between the two materials.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Drill bits I only tried one and it was dull and wobbled. Couldn't drill a clean hole. I had to use an existing bit I had that I thought wouldn't be precise enough but it worked fine. Terrible quality product. This is why home Depot has an easy return policy so customers who waste their time with a cappy product aren't further inconvenienced with difficult returns.

Was fighting drilling holes with a small hammer drill motor and used drill, after the big hammer drill motor had a cord problem. Pulled this one out of the package and whipped through the next 15 holes with much less effort. Saved my shoulders!

I drilled 4 holes in old concrete and hit a few rocks (you know it when you hit them) but this worked fine. It's less expensive than the Tapcon drill and will probably outlast it. For the money it did the job for me.
