Answer:
Yes, but be sure and tape off the area where you want to drill in ceramic. You need to do this just in case the bit initially "walks" as you make your entry hole. It will cut thru clay like butter!

Thank you for your question. The Bosch HCBG06T Blue Granite Bits are designed for drilling into concrete, stone and masonry. We would recommend our MultiConstruction Bits for drilling into ceramic, part number MC06 also available from Home Depot: http://www.homedepot.com/p/Bosch-1-4-in-x-4-in-x-6-in-Multi-Construction-MC06/202531129?keyword=bosch+mc06#product_description

Thank you for your question. Bosch Blue Granite bits are made to drill into concrete, stone and masonry. For drilling into Granite we would recommend a diamond hole saw.

Customer Reviews

Rated 3.0 out of 5 by 4 reviewers.
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Disappointing Struggled to drill 2 holes into concrete even while using a heavy duty drill. Wouldn't drill anymore. April 26, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Only lasted about 10 holes then tip was obliterated Tip completely disintegrated after only ten holes. Expensive when it only lasts that long. I know there are lots of good reviews here - but notice most (all?) are from the bosch website April 10, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by These carbide bits outlast them all ... I now need contractor quantities This recent winter was far brutal as far as I can remember. As a result many homeowners on our block had ice dams on their gutters but far worse, leaders which when packed with ice tore off their securing straps making this an urgent repair. Purchased this name brand carbide masonry bit during a warmup and proceeded to work reinstalling our fallen leaders this time using multiple leader straps also purchased at our local Home Depot. As expected there was more frozen ice on the ground making our ladder a potential falling hazard and it was a effort drilling new holes thru brick some 20 feet up "in the air"...saving grace was this new Bosch masonry bit cut like butter making it a "almost" effortless task. Next time around (if there is one) I'll be sure and have a hammer drill versus my standard variable speed drill. Hardest task was chasing down wall anchors, mounting screws and large washers such that the thin gauge aluminum securing straps would not "pull out" should there be further ice build-up in the sections of aluminum leader. Neighbors were so amazed how quickly I completed our downed leaders I was pressed into service re-installing their downed leaders also. Ran out of leader straps so in an emergency situation we cut up large vegetable cans lengthwise (be sure and put print side of cans inward towards wall otherwise it will be obvious where these leader straps came from) and used them as makeshift leader straps. If you think ahead you can install these makeshift leader straps closer to the ground so you can replaced them with correct straps when the weather is nicer. This Bosch carbide tipped masonry bit must have drilled over 20 holes and it's still sharp...Home Depot should stock contractor packs of these 1/4-inch carbide bits. Will chase down online prices then stock up but in a emergency situation paying $4 for this drill bit isn't all that bad March 20, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by GREAT BIT This drill bit is very great. You can get a lot of holes drilled and the bit still be sharp. Bosh, very good Drill bits December 30, 2013
