Thank you for your question. You can use a 4" wire wheel with the AG50-11VS grinder. If using a wire wheel you need to use the Type 27 grinding guard.

Customer Reviews

11 Amp 5 in. Corded Variable Speed Angle Grinder is rated 4.9 out of 5 by 15.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Better than average Very powerful, high noise range, and bulky for one hand. Good for hardcore grinding and getting the tough jobs done. I wasn't very fond of the on and off locking switch as it was difficult to use one-handed. It locks in the on position too easily and is hard to unlock.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Better than more expensive names I wanna clear up a few things I've read in some other reviews. I weld for a living and this grinder runs most of the day. It's made in Malaysia, not Germany, the speed dial is not microscopic, it's small but doesn't get in ur way or get moved accidentally. I got the side switch model, not the paddle because it's awkward. This is a tough grinder! Soft start and it quits wen it needs brushes. Bosch customer service is the best on earth, that's not my opinion either, don't believe me? Call them and find out for yourself. I've bought other brands before and thought a big name brand would stand behind their stuff, well all of them won't, Bosch will! I've called several times and every single time it ended with me being surprised and extremely satisfied. Variable speed is a great option on a grinder, this is about as close to the perfect tool as a man can own..

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A great tool for log home finish prep After a seminar on how to prepare my log home for the exterior finish coat, I ordered the Bosch 11 amp 5 in. corded grinder to be used with an Osborn abrasive brush. In addition to the power and size, my primary requirements were variable speed and locking switch. While I am still in the process of finishing my logs, I am extremely pleased with the Bosh grinder so far. I can lock it on at about 1500-2000rpm, and, with the brush, it takes my gray logs back to near new appearance very quickly with just a light touch on the wood. I'm impressed that this tool, which seems smaller and lighter than others I looked at, allows me to apply just the right force for the task without wearing me out before I can finish the job. Because of other reviews, and advice from the seminar, I'm very careful to blow the dust off the tool with compressed air after each use, which will hopefully prolong bearing life. I'll update this review if premature wear becomes an issue.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Strong and powerful There is only one thing I didn't care for and that is the noise level, but that screams power! At 11 amps, it is more powerful than my other smaller grinders, and it shows. Ear protection is a must with any grinder so sound is not an issue. In this case, the sound level is rewarded with power. I ran the grinder hard on a concrete edge, and it got warm. I used another grinder with less power on the same surface with the same grinding wheel and it got hot. That tells me right there which one is going to hold up to time. My Bosch grinder is new - the other is not - however it has been well cared for. The owners manual gets a 5 out of 5. Read it! There is much good information and knowledge and most important - safe use habits. The graphics and print are exceptional and some of the best in the industry. I would call it superlative and that goes as well for the grinder. And did Bosch ever do their homework. The handle is fantastic. Thank you! There is nothing worse than a good tool with a cheap handle, and this is not the case with Bosch. They did well rounded research and design on everything. Right down to the trigger lock. Very nicely done. When so many tools are similar, you have to look deep. Someone is going to get a good deal on one of my other grinders. Another perk for my Bosch grinder - It is indeed made in Germany.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from German quality I use this grinder EVERYDAY! I've owned red ones, yellow ones, even the metabos, but this is by far the very best. I've never seen a variable speed grinder before, I knew they existed but I usually am in a hurry when I buy tools, so ordering online isn't usually an option for me. I've had this grinder for a year now and literally use it at least 2 hours, five days a week. I went through 37 five inch Diablo cutting disks last week and four Diablo grinding disks. Bosch grinders and Diablo disks make my job easier and faster. I use Diablo 80 grit flap disks at around 4-5000 rpms for finishing and smoothing edges on industrial tables I build. The tables are 1/4" tubing with 1/2" solid steel tops, 4x8 ft. I just bought a second grinder for cut disks so I don't have to change disks out as much. I've gotten this grinder so hot I couldn't hold it and I definitely don't recommend it but I'll dunk it in a five gallon bucket of water and use the other one while it cools off. NEVER had a failure thanks to the service minder brushes and without a doubt Bosch has the very best customer service hands down. If you want junk, go spend $29 on no name brand garbage, if you are a hard working guy that works like a dog and wants tools to last, look no further than Bosch. Made in Germany, tough as heck switch and unbeatable good tool. The bearings sound horrible from day one but Bosch said it's how they designed it, and from experience, if it blows apart I know Bosch has a new one next day at no charge. Try that with the yellow brand..

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Variable speed grinder I have used regular grinders for 30 years and have never owned a variable speed. I love it. I like the speed control. No more violent grinding when I am doing some polishing with a burnishing disc or using a wire wheel. Wish I had tried this earlier on, life would have been easier!
