12 Amp Corded 3-1/2 in. Variable Speed Plunge and Fixed-Base Router Kit with Hard Case (12 Accessories) is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 237.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Strong no gimmick router Bought this router after researching similar brands and decided on the Bosch. It is simple to use, and makes projects easy to accomplish. In an age where gimmicks are the norm, I'm pleased to find a tool that is just a tried and true tool. Stop researching and purchase this one.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Awesome Router Motor but thats it I bought this router pack a while back. Didn't us it because the bases were so tight and I couldn't change the motor between the different bases very easily. I let sit for over a year because of this and didn't have time for wood working. I didn't need a router but i recently got it back out and same issue. Now apparently its out of warranty. Still looks brand new. I can't understand how aluminum shrinks on the bases or expands on the motor. Best router I have ever had performance wise and I have bought other accessories for it but its almost impossible to use because the bases are so tight. I can understand if it was used and abused but I guess its my fault. If you get one with the right base size these are spectacular routers but be aware. I will not pay to replace base parts that were bad from the factory. The star rating is because I have a very nice router that I can not use due to the plunng housing and fixed housing being so tight I can't get the motor in them or if I do it takes forever to get it out.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Some minor changes would be nice I like the soft start feature as it helps you maintain control when the tool comes on but the round wood handles makes it harder to control when compared to the shaped grips on the plunge base. I worry that the plastic shield on the plunge base will break right at the two hinge mounts. It would be better if the case would actually hold most of the accessories like the dust hoods and guide fence (sold separately). Dust extraction has issues in that it gets clogged often when more than fine chips, like splinters or strips, are the result of the cut. The accessory dust collection items should be included and are expensive anyway.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very easy to use nice features First of all I just bought this kit and have only used it a few times but so far I love it. My purpose for buying another router was I wanted a plunge router for making inlays and signs. I looked at reviews on line and the Bosch stood above most. The only negative compairasen that I could really find was the weight was typically a little more but I thought I would give it a try anyway. The first time I used it was with the plunge base which was very easy to control, maybe because of the extra weight or the smooth action in the plunger. The wooden handles are verycomfortable and felt very little vibration when using. The price on the combo kit was also a big plus.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Rugged I purchased this combo kit in 2009 and quickly adapted a mount on my DIY CNC router to house the motor. The motor ran for on my CNC machine for about two years worth of periodic cutting. Most of the materials milled were plywood and MDF, and sometimes the router ran for 6 hours or more while cutting. After about two years the bottom bearing began to go out, so I purchased another motor to keep with my combo kit (which I use for general carpentry), and I replaced the bottom bearing in the original motor. The original motor still runs today, now on my router table.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Well built and easy to use It's a well made router. It performs very well, it's easy to handle, and it has enough power to handle the tougher species of wood. The clear plastic shield can collect dust and make it hard to see sometimes when working freehand, but a coat of good wax every now and then stops that. I bought a 1611 EVS when they first came out on the market many years ago and it works as well today as it did when it was new! I expect the same experience from this one. In other words, I see the same level of quality built into the 1617EVSPK as I did when I bought the 1611EVS.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Strong, Reliable, Dependable I used this router for over 8 years. While working in construction as a finish carpenter, I saw and borrowed several different routers. For me, NOTHING compared to this router. There wasn't a job that i did that it couldn't handle. I had multiple jobs that i used it for from simple rounding over the edge to full out raised panels. When it came to flutting, and i did a lot of it, this router is the easiest to hold and manage. After doing several 8ft columns and two mantels with a few custom flutted cased windows and doors, at the end of the day, i was still able to grip it again for those last minute detail work.

Works well, and was even easy to install and use in my own router table built from scratch. The adjustable fine tuner incorporated in to it quite well . has plenty of power, and appears to be well built. I have already used the product several times. Only complaint is that the plunger base seems a bit stiff, is hard to control the plunge as when you exert pressure to plunge it, it kinda hangs up then dives quickly, perhaps this will loosen up over time.
