I purchased this saw to replace a 32-year old Black and Decker. Granted - that's like comparing a 1980 Chevy Vega to a 2013 Chevy Cruze, but the difference is huge. The trigger mechanism is easy to use, so are the saw blade height and angle adjustments. It has a great guide in front to show the kerf of your cut and has a very good anti-kickback mechanism. Its motor is also comparatively quiet. It is also has a left side blade, which is great for me because I am left handed - that may be a big consideration for the majority of people who are right handed.

Limited use so far, but out of the box was impressed with light weight, solid feel, clutch to prevent blade binding and heavy duty base plate. I like the blade/cutline visibility for right-handed users. I'm hoping Bosch quality will translate into long tool life. Seems plenty powerful in my limited applications to date.
Only issue is what to do with saw when not in use as there is no storage box or bag included with saw. Can I even buy a generic storage bag for circular saws? I've never noticed/looked for one.

Bosch needs to sell a dust collection attachment for this unit like the one used on the CS10.

Now that Black and Decker owns and manufacturers most of the power tools on the market, it is difficult to find what a woodworker/contractor wants. I bought the Bosch because it was only one of the four manufacturers that I found that make a left-hand blade circular saw. And because of previous purchases I knew what I hoped was the quality. It is an excellent tool with fair good accuracy and lots of power. Only two things that I had issues with. First the trigger switch is quite strong and for one with moderate arthritis it is difficult. Secondly, it does not have a very good exhaust port for sawdust. In both cases my old Porter Cable was much better. Only one other issue: it is about 8 ounces heavier than advertised. Alas, Porter Cable is now owned by B&D and the quality is not very good... and they don't make one anymore. The Bosch is the way to go!!

Eats up wood. Quality construction. A little heavy, but whatever. When it breaks on a job I will buy another one. Only headache is that it takes about a month for the blade to stop spinning. Again...whatever. It works great

I bought this saw to replace my heavier worm drive saws that I always use at work. I wanted a smaller, lighter saw for everyday use. I specially like the blade on the left side giving me a clear view of the cut line. The motor is strong and the blade that comes with it cuts wood like slicing butter. I should of bought this saw a long time ago. It would have been nice if bosch threw in a carrying case or bag.

Very hard to find a quality left hand bladed circular saw. This is a good saw, not the quality of my 25 year old Porter Cable but probably the best of what is available now. Would be nice if they were able to make this saw a little lighter.
