How does the fine adjustment work?

I've bought this router but I'm at odds with the fine adjustment. The router doesn't move even an iota whether up or down. I would like to know "step-by-step" how to do so. I read the manual a lot and did what it says we must do, but to no avail. See it on the video I submitted to YouTube, please.
Asked by: Jetfalcao
Since you have already followed the steps in the manual please contact our technicians at 1-877-267-2499 so we can further discuss and troubleshoot the issue you are having with the fine adjustment.

is there a fixed base option

is there a fixed base option
Asked by: alex
Thank you for your question. The 1619EVS does not have a fixed base. We do offer the 1617EVSPK and MRC23EVSK which do have a fixed base and plunge together.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great tool! Powerful, accurate and compact! I purchased this tool last week and used it for a project in my house and needed to round off edges for closet shelving. The product worked flawlessly.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from powerful I bought a 2 hpr Bosch plunge router in the mid 90's and I still love it. I purchased the 3-1/4 horse when I wanted to upgrade my router table because I know Bosch makes great quality tools.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Comfort and performance I purchased this router, after using what I believe was a 1611 for almost 20 years. We had a small cabinet shop and we beat that router up everyday building raided panel doors, non-stop edging etc, and it performs to this day. This router is just as amazing as that one, and is so comfortable even for a big 3+ hp. I chose it over my PC D-handle all the time. That said, I agree with several of the comments that the dust hood is not well designed. Not only is it brittle and easily prone to breakage, the placement is the bigger problem if you ask me. If you hold the router with the controls facing you, then the dust hood goes to the back where the base is squared off. Bosch teaches us to lay the router down on this side (most likely why the base is flat?) and in doing so with the hood on, it easily breaks where the vent meets the the hood base. Perhaps knowing how weak it is, you can avoid this by being super careful and putting the router on it's other side, but that's most likely an after thought. With that said, Bosch was very quick and happy to send me a free replacement part, and hopefully I can avoid this again. Albeit, I will take the original broken one and beef it up with epoxy and use that one until it snaps again. All said, the router is second to none. Hopefully they can sort out the dust extractor problems, until then just be careful.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Well engineered with effective dust extraction As a professional cabinetmaker I consider every tool purchase an investment. I waited a long time before replacing my very old makita 3 HP. plunge router with this one. I was especially looking for good dust extraction as most of the routers on the market don't seem to have any. Since I have a shaper to do most of my edge treatments I couldn't justify the expense of the Festool. Having used the Bosch for a few weeks now I feel it is a very good value particularly with the optional fence which has it's own dust port. Depth adjustments are precise and well thought out. The machine is heavy but well balanced. Home Depot offered it at a very good price with free shipping. I would definitely recommend this router to serious woodworkers.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good power and comfortable to use. I've used this for templating work, edge profiling, freehand recess work, and in my router table and am very happy with this machine. The router table setup procedure is pretty simple and the micro adjust is really nice when setting up bits like rail and stile bits.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Large router I bought this router to put in a router table to make raised panels. It has all the power you will need, I have a 3 1/2" cove raised panel bit. 2 passes and done. Had trouble with the collet not releasing the bits at first. The collet was not snapped into the collet nut.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from More than expected I am an aspiring woodworker and have been building cabinets and custom furniture for about 3 years now. I started out with harbor freight tools and what I could find for decent prices at pawn shops. I have slowly been upgrading my equipment. I replaced my dewalt 2.5 hp plunge router with the bosch 3.25 hp plunge router. This was evidently a serious upgrade. I had no clue that there could be so much difference. I have always loved my dewalt tools, but this bosch is smooth, more than strong, quite, and easy to handle. It has changed my entire perception of what quality should be. I just built an armoire with a barrel top and used the router to cut my forms for the barrel top out of 2x10s. It cut all the way through in a single pass without any strain whatsoever. I will definitely be checking out more bosch tools.
