This was my dream saw. The first one wouldn't cut straight, leaving teeth-marks down the length of the board. I calibrated it. I tried to get it fixed at an authorized service center to no avail. I exchanged it for a second saw. Same exact problem! Called Bosch. No help. I'll be returning this one too. I hated to do this--it's like trading a Porsche for a Volvo--but I bought a nice Dewalt and, though it's not pretty and takes up the majority of my two-car garage, it cuts perfectly. I'm so flippin' bummed. 2 saws , 2 setups, 2 calibrations, and 3 blades later, I've had it.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Steve Glide is game changer
The glide mechanism is great. Super sm-ooth and no wasted space required if you ar e working in tight q9uarters. All the stops are perfect. The bed is large. Combined with the gravity cart it is my go to tool for large cuts-,anything from framing lumber to crown. Can't really compare it to my other chop saws.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by JoeConsumer Near perfect!
I researched miter saws and decided on the Bosch. Got it for $50 off MSRP and love it. I have a small work space and the 'no rail' design is perfect. All parts are solid/heavy quality. I'm thoroughly impressed. I spent 5 minutes squaring up things (all adjustments are VERY easy)... then I did some test cuts on a 4x4... they were super smooth... I could slice off 1/16" pieces like butter. The blade it comes with is much better than I expected. I may upgrade to more teeth, but not anytime soon.
The only CON in my opinion is the weight. If you plan to move this to job sites, I would get the mobile cart. But mine will stay in my garage on a custom made cart, so weight is not an issue.
NOTE: I had this delivered to my home (free shipping). The box was beat up pretty badly... I feared the worst. But I unpacked it and all was good.

I bought this saw after reading a review from a boat builder. He gave it high marks. I Haven't had enough of an opportunity to use the saw to disagree.

Take the time to set this saw up correctly and it 's smooth and accurate as can be. There's no factory laser, but aftermarket ones work on it. Take care not to pinch fingers in the hinges. Lift with the handles cut under the base ends. This is one of the most solid feeling tools I've owned. Not cheap, but worth the price.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Bill I looked long and hard and even bought the Milwaukee 6955-20 before I wound up with the Bosch
When I bought the Milwaukee, the blade wasn't 90 deg. from the deck. I tried the Owner's Manual instructions for adjusting it and got nowhere. Then I called Customer Service and was informed that this adjustment should actually be performed by an Authorized Service Center. My local Service Center said I was at least a two weeks away from getting it done.
This was way too long before I could use my new tool? I did like the digital display and it was accurate but time to move on.
Talked with Home Depot's 800 number and got them to match an online price for the Bosch. Picked it up in a couple of days and wow! everything was dead on. That was 2 1/2 years ago and it's still dead on. Awesome!

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Nawm444 Smooth, accurate, great saw!
This new design of sliding, compound miter saw allows for much reduced space behind the saw, which is great for constructing a built in set up on a shop bench with extended fences, without needing to cut a hole in the wall behind to allow for the sliding rails of most saws. The only other saw with such a feature I know of is the Festool Kapex, and that saw is almost 3 times as much money, and is in 10 inch only, I think. Needless to say, the features of this saw, with the increased capacity the 12 inch blade allows makes this an amazing deal for less than $700. The only trade off I can see is more plastic parts than are on the Festool, and the adjustable throat plates don't adjust far enough to get anywhere near a true zero clearance to prevent blow out on the back of the wood, but I believe there are aftermarket zero clearance inserts that can be purchased. Either that, or I will make one myself. Have been using the saw on a large deck project, and no problems have been experienced at all. One small complaint, the adjustable hold down is a nice feature, but the star nut on the top is not very ergonomic, and the threading is so fine, it takes forever to adjust it. I may design my own "quick clamp" style hold down to replace the factory one. Works okay once adjusted, just not a quick or easy feature to use.
Also, came well calibrated from the factory. I went through all of the set up checks to be sure everything was accurate, and did not have to make any adjustments.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by MJ Not what I thought it would be
I was excited to buy and use this saw coming from a dewalt 10 in saw. It was great for the first two weeks.. After that with each cut and as the saw warmed up there was a clicking noise coming from the bearing housing that supports the blade When the blade was slowing down after a cut. I thought it was normal and ignored it but it got louder as time and days went on. Checked for pieces of wood in belt area, none found. On top of that I was putting a 5 degree bevel on a piece of 1x10 pine. It was out of square on the far end from the fence about 3 degrees. Tried everything nothing helped so I returned it and ordered a Milwaukee hope it turns out better
