Did a lot of research and it was a toss up between this saw and a Dewalt. This saw performed excellent, I recently used it for reconstructing a stair case (cutting risers and treads) as well as installing laminate flooring.

I came to carpentry late in life having not done it before. I decided to build my own kitchen cabinets including face frames and doors. I agonized over the decision of which table saw to buy, mainly because there is such a lot of advice out there online and so many strong opinions.
I bought this saw about 2 years ago and am very very happy with it. It's light enough to be portable although in fact I have had it in one place in my basement for the whole time. I bought the outfeed and left side supports as well which have been very useful.
You will need to buy a proper blade, and I spent the money on getting a good one.
It's very solid and sturdy. I have it up on a bench I built for the purpose, and when using large pieces of wood or sheets of 3/4 inch plywood the saw itself never wobbles. You definitely feel like you've got a solid piece of equipment.
The only downside on this saw is the fence. It does not click in at a perfect 90 degrees with any amount of certainty - there is play in it as you click it into place, so if you are doing work that requires super-fine angles this might not be the saw or fence for you, but what I've found in two years of work is that it is definitely good enough for my use
similarly the splitter attachment behind the blade is not excellent. Over two years of use it has got a little bent and does not always line up perfectly with the blade, which has led once or twice to a piece of wood being snagged. Probably user error but the mechanism that fixes it in place seems flimsy and not as finely tuned as you'd expect.
So overall, for making accurate rips and cuts in sheet material and lumber to the quality that you'd use for paint grade furniture and cabinetry that you'll use in your own house, I think this is a great machine. If you are a professional of course you'll probably be looking at something higher end.

When the rip fence on my old portable Saw bought the farm, I decided I would upgrade to a slightly bigger portable as It spends most of the time in my garage, but occasionally goes out on jobs as I support my teaching habit with a part-time home improvement business. After reading reviews and shopping online, actually handling and inspecting the various saws, I discovered I was not impressed with the quality of anything below the professional level. The price of this saw without the stand at Home Depot was far below anyone else, and as I don't transport it a lot, I opted to save the $150 and attach it to a metal stand I already had. The saw came out of the box and attached easily, the adjustments were well-explained in the manual, and all specs were true from the factory except the riving knife and miter gauge, which were easily adjusted. The saw is quiet, powerful, and has great dust collection when hooked up to my shop vac. After truing the rip fence adjustment, it cuts EXACTLY the dimension on the scale, locks true and square every time, a first for my experience. I am even using the guard system for the first time in 25 years as it is well-designed and easy to use.
I ordered the rear and side extensions from Amazon and found them to be easy to install, well designed, and solidly constructed. Using them, I successfully cut a full sheet of 5/8 plywood myself, and then built a set of cabinets for my garage with it using the dado insert.
If you plan to keep this saw for any length of time or build anything that requires any precision, I would highly recommend this saw. There are a slew of portable/contractor type saws out there for around $300, but none of them remotely compare to the quality of the Bosch for the additional money.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Builder70 Great saw -Not sure why HD description says 7 1/4 inch blade, it is a 10 inch.
Overall: I did a lot of research and read a lot of reviews. Very pleased with this saw and give it a double thumbs up. I'm not a professional but heavy home user. Just finished 16' of base cabinets and built in bookshelves with this saw. Here are some of my thoughts on it:
Although the portable stand with wheels functions fine, I didn't want to spend another $180 dollars for it so I decided not to buy the in-store combo. I custom ordered the saw on its own for $450. It arrived FAST... had it in three days. Website had a free shipping offer. If you do want the stand, get the kit. They run over $210 if you buy separately.
Saw will store almost flat against a wall if it was on the stand. Stand is rated one of the best and it can be used with other saws - again, I just didn't need a portable saw & put that money towards a nice blade.
The digital read out wasn't something I cared about so I saved money and bought the model without.
Set up was easy and I was surprised how close the miter and saw adjustments were right out of the box. Only tweaked them a little bit to get them square.
CAUTION: The left side and rear extender accessories that you see advertised on the net may not fit the new version of this saw. (March 2012). Saw has been updated recently and mine from HD is the newest model. The attachment points look different than the previous models. Make sure you double check compatibility if you plan on buying those extenders.
Couple saw comments... the blade protector does not get in the way & I leave it on most of the time except to transport; however it takes a little practice to get use to taking it off and on.
Pleasant surprise include nice places to store extra saw blades, the miter, and rip fence. Just make sure they are secure before moving the saw or the fence can fall out on your leg/foot.
I haven't tried it yet, but it looks like my shop vac is going to fit right on the dust exhaust.
This saw is very quiet... what a surprise. Neighbor even commented on how quiet it was.
Also, it seems that it comes up to speed gradually which doesn't dim my lights when I first turn it on (like my miter saw).
Not as light as listed... feels like 55-60lb. But I'm fine with it because it is sturdy and less likely to move around when cutting.
Tip: A saw can only take you so far then it comes down to the blade...do yourself a favor and get yourself a nice blade if you need a nice edge...Diablo blade ($40) is a good choice.
Overall, if you don't have the need, the room or money for a cabinet saw; this portable saw is great. Go buy it and stop thinking about it.

Had my last one for 15 years using almost daily. So when it came time to replace, I bought the same. Wish it worked with old stand but other than that it's pre much the exact saw.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Jolt Bosch 10" saw -no stand
I'm a non-professional woodworker, although I have to say that this Bosch table was a great choice after being stuck with a regular duty Delta table saw for 10 years of inaccuracy. This machine is on the mark every times so far, it stays set square and accurate . I developed several blade inserts (finewoodworking)for dado cutting to keep cuts clean. However, the dust doesn't just shoot through to the rear bag(my own), I have added a large adapter plus Pvc and elbow, but still alot of dust just doesn't bag out the back, it just clogs and flys around some goes down into a vertical bag.Note. wear a safety gear.

I've had this saw for about 5 yrs now, and it delivers exactly what I expected from a benchtop saw, with a few extras. The gravity rise stand is a marvel of engineering and makes it so easy to quickly store or setup the saw. The blade has not needed to be replaced yet, so I am impresses with the quality. Safety features of the blade guard and riving knife are very well done, and easy to remove and re-install. I also purchased the table extensions, which were a good value for the money. The dust port is perfectly located and sized to fit a Shop-Vac large hose without the need for any adaptors.
