Answer:
Thank you for your question. The Bosch CRS180 reciprocating saw will accept any of our Bosch 18 volt Lithium battery packs. The part numbers are BAT609 1.3Ah or BAT618 2.6Ah and our 2nd generation High Capacity Lithium batteries BAT610G 1.5Ah or BAT619G 3.0Ah. Purchasing a bare tool allows you to use the same battery for multiple tools, resulting in a cost savings.

Answer:
Hi Brad, this saw will work with the following battery model numbers. BAT609, Bat618, BAT610G and BAT619G. These are all lithium batteries. Check the model# on your battery pack. The Li-HC is Lithium High Capacity, meaning this battery pack will run a long time.

Customer Reviews

Rated 4.6 out of 5 by 27 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Nice, lightweight saw I got a deal, a while back, on a bosch 18v lithium ion drill that came with two batteries and a charger, so it was natural to purchase this saw, as it accepts both standard and extended cap. 18v batteries. I really enjoy how easy it is to change blades (worked great with irwin and Milwaukee blades, not sure on others). Obviously, it doesn't have the power a corded model does, but with 2 settings and a variable speed trigger, it comes very close. Some stated that it vibrated to the point of not being comfortable; I did not find this to be the case. I have used it for several jobs around the house and it also seems to be good with battery life, even with the standard size batt. packs. -I would certainly recommend this to others! June 11, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great tool, great service I have owned a quality "corded" recip saw for years. I replaced it with this and could not be any happier. The saw is lightweight, powerful, well balanced and durable. Cordless is so much more convienent, and with this tool there was no trade off. (Of course make sure you have 2 batteries) The quickchange of blades is almost too good to be true. Goodbye allen wrench!!! 100%+ satisfied. The Home Depot shipped this out to me and had it in my hands in 4 days. No kidding! AND---at a much cheaper price than I was finding online! August 21, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Quality product This litte guy works great. Three inch limbs don't slow it down nor does a metal closet bar. It takes care of pesky screws sticking out without a problem. The key is to buy quality blades. We tried the cheap harbor freight blades and had trouble on small things. Once we switched to a bosch blade this saw was cutting through wood, plastic and metal like butter (any good quality blade will work). Only downside is how fast it goes through a slim battery when cutting through heavy duty materials, but that will happen with any cordless powertool. December 25, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Works for me! I bought this unit because I had a Bosch drill (which I am very satisfied with) which came with (2) batteries. This allowed me to buy the saw as a tool only. I can now use one of the batteries for one tool and the other battery for the other tool. I have used the saw on two small projects so far but it has performed just as I had hoped it would. I also really like the easy way the blade can be removed and a different blade installed as I had to use a different blade for a short time. Carl September 17, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Moonlights as a Post Hole Digger Well, not really, but this is an awesome saw. Make sure you have a good battery attached, and you are ready. I actually did use this saw to cut roots in the post holes I dug for my fence. It was awesome! Cut through the roots with no issue. Mud, dirt, etc were covered on this thing when I was done. It still works as if it is brand new. I recommend this to anyone looking for a cordless sawzall. Very sturdy and very well built. Great price. Bosch tools are the best! December 10, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Real workhorse First job I did with this: dismantle portions of a tin shed which collapsed form snow load to rescue seed and fertilizer. It performed well in sub-zero temperature conditions for cutting apart sections and crumpled framing. It was a godsend to have no cords in the way of the debris. The battery held up in the cold and as of yet, I have not found need to recharge it. March 4, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by As good as it gets for semi-pro This Bosch Li-ion reciprocating saw is superb. I had been using a very good Dewalt 18v regular battery portable saw but was constantly needing to recharge. I switched to the Lithium Ion 18v Bosch system this fall and am very, very pleased with the power, portability, and battery life of this product. Beware, there are several levels of batteries in the Bosch Lithium Ion line. The best, and most expensive was their 3au FatPack. This battery can be as expensive as the saw itself. BUT, in the long run I believe it will hold up well and hold it's charge much longer. This is a very powerful, portable saw. I used it to cut a large grove of Bamboo at the root. Simply excellent. Blade change is simple, battery charges quickly and the large fat pack lasts quite a while. The slim pack battery is great for smaller jobs and recharges very quickly. Overall...very pleased. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Well worth the money i'm no pro by any stretch of the imagination but I can see how you can become attached to this product. I already have the drill but needed a portable saw to do a remodal job at the house. Worked just fine and then I decided to prune some trees and it worked just as well with that job. I am now going to do an bath remodel which will require some major demo work and I believe this will handle the job at hand with ease. Glade I purchased it. May 1, 2012
