Answer:
Not likely. It's not strong enough for that. You would need at least a 1/2 inch drive model. Would work if you lossened them first and torged them when putting the wheel back on.

Answer:
I think not. You need an impact drill to remove lug nuts from a wheel. And, you should never tighten lug nuts with an impact drill ---- too much torque.

Answer:
I do not recommend it. Lugs need a hammer-type of tool (there is a reason garages use air hammers) that delivers extreme torque. This delivers less peak torque than that, just like it is supposed to.
This is not the right tool for that application. This is a smooth torque, not a sudden hard torque.
For a cordless drill, though, it is pretty decent.

Answer:
In a word, no. You would want to get an impact driver rather than a drill. If you were trying to drill out the wheel studs this drill also isn't for you. It would take a more powerful drill, best done at a machine shop.

Answer:
Thank you for your question. The DDB180 drill/driver will not be able to remove lug nuts. We do offer a High-Torque Impact Wrench that will work for removing lug nugs, model IWHT180-01 with Friction Ring or the HTH181-01 with Pin Detent.

Greetings Kram,
My name is Tom, also known as HD116 at Home Depot's How to Community. I am here today answering a few product questions and saw yours.
This would not be a good choice for lug nuts as lug nuts require over 1000 in/lbs of torque for proper installation while this only provides a maximum of 400 in/lbs.
A better choice would be a cordless impact drill/driver. Check these out - Read More

Rated 4.6 out of 5 by 30 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Light and powerful I love this drill. It is about half the weight of my other 18 volt drill and the smaller overall dimensions allow me to work in areas I couldn't get into before. It has great torque and the two-speed range makes driving screws and drilling pretty easy. The LED work light facing the work area is a definite plus. The kit included 2 batteries and a charger and it all came in a practical high-impact plastic case. I was fortunate to get it on sale, but the regular price would still be a good buy for someone who regularly uses a power drill. June 5, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great! lightweight, powerful, great deal. battery lasts quite long (it's been over a month and I haven't even switched out the first battery pack) and it can handle anything I thorugh at it! September 30, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by It works and is light The drill is light and works well. For simple/easy/light work around the house, all I notice (vs a previous ryobi one 18v) is that this is lighter and smaller. I have not used it all that much yet though. The battery must be good. It is still on its first charge. I put the extra battery (in baggie) in the fridge so it would age under a less stressful temperature than it would get in the garage. I like how everything fits into the case, though the case is a bit large. Bosch sent back a rebate in a timely fashion. July 10, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Drill Kit I teach Applied Practical Arts and I like the fact that there is a spare battery. The battery life is great but when it stops working it happens with little warning. I liked them well enough to add to my collection September 16, 2014
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Not much speed or power... I'm a huge Bosch tools fan. My two criticisms of this purchase are: 1. Not much speed/power (this works fine as a driver, but not a drill) - this will end up being a glorified power screwdriver. 2. Lowe's had this much cheaper than HD. I bought it at HD because it was on sale; two weeks later it was on sale at Lowe's for even less. If I could do it all over again, I would not purchase this drill; it's average at best. I still defer to my Dewalt for serious work. July 2, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Tremendous value! My Bosch drill has been in the house for less than 1 month, and I already see that it is capable of performing the tasks that I require. I am in the midst of remodeling a bathroom, and this drill is doing everything that I ask of it. The drill was ordered with 1.3 Ah batteries, but shipped with 1.5 Ah batteries, that include a fuel gauge, which is kind of handy, but wouldn't have been a deal breaker. February 1, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by 18 volt Li-ion Drill This is my first Li-ion purchase. Great so far! Nice to have a battery operated device stay fully charged and ready to go weeks down the road. July 9, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by good price great product very happy ,light weight ,long battery life ,love the keyless chuck July 22, 2014
