Thank you for your question. The HCBG06T is not recommended for Slate. We recommend our new Natural Stone Bit model NS300 for slate.

Answer:
Thank you for your question. You can use these bits in a regular drill/driver, however to achieve the best performance we would recommend using the bit in a hammer drill. The vibrating action that you get with a hammer drill is what aids in the bit drilling through the masonry.

Thank you for your question. Bosch Blue Granite bits are made to drill into concrete, stone and masonry. For drilling into Granite we would recommend a diamond hole saw.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Work excellent on Concrete Drill holes for mounting railing in concrete floor. Worked excellent using a hammer drill. July 5, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Cuts like butter. One the best masonary bits I've used. Used with a Bosch hammer drill it drills into concrete floors so easily. June 23, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Carbide hammer bit Had no issues with this conrete bit. Great product. March 8, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Bosch Blue granite drill bit Excellent product.Performed as expected and made my job effortless . March 8, 2016
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Carbide chipped Drilling thru marble tile, not that hard, the carbide chipped. December 15, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Got the job done...barely I was able to get through about 16 holes in 1922 concrete with one of these bits before it was just too chewed up. I got another bit to finish up another 12 holes in ~1950 concrete. This was more difficult and I couldn't drill a few holes as deep as I wanted. A pro would insist that an SDS hammer drill and corresponding drill bit would be the only way to go. As a DIYer with a cheap hammer drill, this was worth the try over spending $$$ buying or renting and SDS drill. This bit was pretty cheap and lasted as long enough for me to be happy with its value. Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Dulls Quickly Began to get dull after only drilling only 6-8 holes in the concrete. Totally useless after 15 holes. When I have to drill holes every two feet for the bottom plate in my basement, this was pretty much a waste of money. February 20, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Does the job well I bought this to replace a regular masonry bit that had dulled. I had to drill anchor holes in an old driveway slab, and this drill went through it with no problem using a regular drill motor. Masonry drills are made for cinder block, brick and stucco. This Bluegranite is made for hard concrete, and the cost is not much more. June 28, 2016
