Set an 8' cut-off?

I see it extends to hold 16' of material. Does that mean I can have a full 8' of material on one side? That is, can I set a cut-off stop at 8'?
Asked by: sschultz
The GTA3800 miter saw stand has an extended length of 12 feet and material capacity of 16 feet.

32-1/2 in. Folding Leg Miter Saw Stand is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 23.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great miter saw stand. I am a professional trim carpenter and have used a wide variety if miter saw stands. So far, this one is easily my favorite. It has the widest material support of any stand I have used. Even wider than the DeWalt 723. It's supports are also much sturdier and convenient. I did add two more material supports after which I had absolutely no complaints. In the future, as I replace saw stands, I hope to get more of these.

I have the Dewalt stand and the Bosch, The Bosch does more and is made better but the location of the knob to extend arms is horrible. You can barely get your fingers in there to turn it and why couldn't they use a quick lever. Other than that bad design flaw it is a great stand. Love the rollers but again they should make it easier to adjust than turning a knob!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Solid and feature laden Very solid, very well finished and has all of the features you'd need. Appropriately heavy. The handle is on the underside, which can be awkward but is well balanced.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Bosch miter saw stand Excellent stand. Easy to set up, folds up easy, and is much more stable then my yellow and black stand. Plus it comes with the rollers.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Saw Stand I should have bought a stand years ago... Glad I finally did. If you are spending the money on a new saw or already own a saw and have a bigger project coming up, make your life easier and buy a stand. The convenience of being able to support the board easily on either side saves a lot a frustration... Not having your saw teetering on saw horses or a make shift table is nice. I really like the fact that this stand has wheels... While stand is not excessively heavy, the wheels make scooting it around the house and garage much easier when not in use. This is a high quality and heavy duty stand. I am pleased with it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very satisfied with choice Explored several options before selecting Bosch. The unit was relatively easy to assemble, as all parts were easy to find and instructions were mostly straightforward. Took just a bit of work to square the stand and saw fence to optimize roller use. The stand seems well made and sturdy. One attraction is the adjustable feet which help on the relatively flat, but not quite flat floors where I use the stand. The legs firmly snap into place and rollers adjust well. Have not used the wheels for mobile rolling, but design is good, though just a touch heavy. Really like quality, stability, dimensions, design.
