Customer Reviews

5/32 in. x 3 in. x 6 in. BlueGranite Turbo Carbide Hammer Drill Bit for Concrete, Stone, and Masonry Drilling (5-Pack) is rated 4.2 out of 5 by 15.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Didnt even need 2! I was worried at how these would perform based on some of the reviews. I used it with my Milwaukee Hammer Drill on speed 2 and they did great! I was drilling into a pre made concrete pier block for a deck to set brackets. I let the bit cool about 30 seconds between each hole and I haven't needed the others in the pack. It's efficient! I did get a little worried for a minute with it spinning untrue but realized my chuck wasn't as tight as it should have been. If you are unsure that you need 4, try 2 of the individuals if it's not a massive job.

These bits easily hammer-drilled 2" deep holes into a concrete slab for Tapcon screws. I had ruined 3 cheaper bits to make 1 hole. After I bought this, I only used 1 bit to complete my job. It is still drilling smoothly after 12 holes. I highly recommend these for drilling concrete. For my use, it only took 30 seconds to make each hole, so I allowed the bit to cool before making the next hole. Also, the bits are long and thin, so I didn't put too much pressure on it while drilling.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from 5/32 6 inch bosch drill bit Used this to drill through concrete. First one snapped after about an inch. Second couldn't drill through the final quarter of an inch.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Eats concrete like butter These bits are desighned to be used with a hammer drill. They worked great. Some reasonable wear is expected. The durability of tips is great: as an experiment I could not sharpen them on a non-diamond grinding stone. My only complaint is that they were too long for my application, which is attaching wood subfloor to concrete floor with trapcon anchors. These bits are much better than the one that came with trap conbox. Used one set for ~500 sq ft of subfloor with most consumption due to my applying excessive force and breaking the bits in the middle. To another reviewer: you need to make sure not to overheat the tips, which is more likely as the tips get duller.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works great with really hard concrete Attaching a sheet metal plate to my basement concrete turned out to be an adventure. I first started with what I thought would be the easiest method which was to use 1 inch ramset nails. After using the cobra with both yellow and red charges, I ended up with bent nails and a chipped floor. I next moved to tapcons. The 5/32 bit that came with the tapocons proved to last for about 1.5 holes. I then dug into my less than elite tool chest and found every cheap bit I had. They lasted all of another hole or so. I then went to HD and got the standard Bosch bits and one extra blue granite just to see how it would do. The regular bits were better than I'd used before but still burned out after a couple of holes. The blue granite bit however was much different. This thing blew through the hard concrete with no problems! If I'd have had these from the start I wouldn't have even known what a difference in quality there was between standard and premium bits. Thumbs up all the way!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Decent drill bits for concrete I've purchased many of these for use in my hammer drill. My basement walls are poured concrete, circa 1932. The walls are very hard, with many stones, etc. These bits do drill through the concrete, but dull fairly quickly in the challenging material. I've bent a few by applying too much pressure, but that's my fault. When I've used the bits in other concrete and bricks, I've had no problem. They cut through with little effort. I use these with Tapcon screws, which works well.
