Compared to other hand planer prices and brands you can't beat this deal. It's a Bosch so you know you get quality , even though it does feel slight plasticky , it's definitely stood up to rugged conditions bouncing around with other tools from one site to the other . I like the versatile maneuvering and depth of blade settings.

I had made an oak table 60"x60" with a maple (3") border. After putting the dmaple border on when the table was upside down, I discovered that the border and top was not truly flush. This enabled me to correct this very nicely.

I searched all over for this planer, partly because it was a Bosch and partly because of the price. It turns out that my local H. D. stores has just dropped the brand but one store had one left. The box looked a little beat up and since it was their last one I asked for a discount which I was given. The associate took another $25.00 off the price. When I got it to the job I discovered that it had been used and returned. Despite that I've kept it because it was still essentially new with a new warranty and all of the parts were still in the box. I'm happy, they're happy, everybody's happy.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by reds I gave it a kiss when I was done
I had to trim down window jams to match uneven dry wall. I marred up some of the walls but paint will fix it and once I learned how to finesse it the marring stopped and I had nice level planes. Cuts through finish nails too and has extra blades included that are reversible. No regrets buying this tool.

I shopped extensively before buying this planer. I know one of the people in the tool department at home depot personally. and he, a retired pro, gave me the thumbs up on the tool. Initially, I needed it to level some sub floors that I was prepping for hard wood. This tools walked through the 100 year old tongue and grove like a hot knife through butter. I was replacing several door in the house and this planer mad fitting the doors a snap. I have used the heck out of this tool and it has never failed to preform. It's worth every penny I paid for it. Warning, if you are planning a lot of material, you need to hook up a vacuum. This is a con, just a reality.

Bought this today to remove finish from some excess oak flooring to use for a plant stand. Had tried polyurethane remover unsuccessfully, and sanding is a royal pain. Anyway, read the instructions, tested once on scrap piece, turned front knob to adjust depth of cut to about 1/3 of 1/64" and removed the finish on all boards within 20 minutes. It was even kind of fun. I butted the boards to a wood stop clamped to my worktable and continued the tool on past the end of the boards onto the wood stop as recommended in the instructions. Only messed up a once when power cord got hung up mid-board and I had to restart from there; but it'll sand smooth easily enough. This seems like the ideal tool to plane boards less than 3 1/4".
