Is this the 1590 evs?

Asked by: adrienne
No this is not. This is the JS470E. One of Bosch newest jig saws. The 1590evs is an old Bosch jig saw that is no longer made.

7 Amp Corded Electric Variable Speed Top-Handle Jig Saw with Carrying Case is rated 4.4 out of 5 by 37.
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Rugged with flaws Rugged with a decent orbital action. Cuts crooked right out of the box. Parts are expensive. Bosch replaced a better model with this one.

I love this saw and that is a lot coming from me, because before this jig saw if I could have chosen a tool in my wood shop that I dreaded using the most. It would be the jig saw. Me an jig saws have just never gotten along. Ive owned 3 or 4 jigsaws in my life, but it just seems like everyone I buy just does not work well and it ends up causing me to do more work than what it was worth. Even though I dont like using jig saws. I have to have one to use on occasion. So for the past couple years I had been working with a ryobi jig saw. I absolutely hated that thing. Nothing against the ryobi brand. I just hated that jig saw. No matter what I tried I could never get it to cut at a perfect 90 degree angle, but like I said I have disliked every jigsaw I have ever owned because they just didn't work right. So with a project. So with this new project I have going I decided to bite the bullet and buy another jig saw. Did some research online and everyone was hailing the Bosch 7 amp jigsaw and the Makita Brushless Motor jig saw. Now I am a huge Makita fan. In fact all of my battery operated tools are Makita, but in this case the Makita saw just cost much more than everyone else. So I decided to pick up this Bosch jig saw Let me tell you. I think my years of bad experiences with jig saws have finally ending, because this Bosch jig saw is fantastic. Out of the box the thing cuts a perfect 90 degree angle which had me very excited. The variable trigger pull is the best. It is consistent all the way through making it easy to maintain a particular speed. I fell in love with the orbital action setting. With a high tool count blade and the orbital action set to zero. The saw cut through 3/4 plywood with minimal tear-out. Crank up the orbital action and throw on a lower tooth count blade and you have a beast that will chew through lumber like know bodies business. This jigsaw is a keeper. I feel I can finally enjoy using a jig saw now. This bosch jig saw is hefty as well. At 7 amps it has plenty of power. The grip is very comfortable and the blades latterly take seconds to change. Now I have known for a long time that Bosch makes awesome tools. I own a couple of their routers and laser levels. Seeing as they produce such tools. I guess its not surprising that they would be the one to reaffirm my faith in Jig saws.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Rugged and Powerful Saw Without using this jigsaw extensively yet, I can attest to the power, speed control and overall solid feel to this tool. I would give it five stars but were it not for the overall heavy weight, lack of guide or laser and edge/circle cutter accessory. I can live without a laser guide, but it would be a nice addition. Holding and starting the heavy saw is somewhat awkward but I am getting used to it. As far as the circle cutter, I am unimpressed with the cheap construction and inaccuracy, yet I will make use of it as a more reliable edge guide. Overall, this is a saw to grow with and build on. Getting over 30 years from a cheaper less powerful competitor, I feel I made it to the 'Big Leagues' and will be able to achieve many years of reliable performance.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It's Solid I haven't had a chance to use it too much yet but my initial impression is very positive. It has some weight to it and I like that in a jig saw to keep things steady. When looking at different models this one seemed to have a heaftier blade release/retention lever. It has a much longer cord than my previous jig saws which is nice. Adjustment knobs are convenient. I may add more once I've had the chance to run it through some different materials.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love this saw, I use it a lot to cut metal and it works perfectly, I've only used it up to 1/8" but it eats thru it. The one feature I like a lot is the drive roller right behind the blade which keeps the blade from bending. But overall I'm impressed with it completely.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Jig Saw Needed a new jig saw to replace my 46 year old one. The blade holder holds the blade straight and true with no wobble or twisting. At last I can saw a straight plumb line. Very well balanced and easy to hold. It is now a pleasure to be able to saw with precision.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The One and Only Jigsaw you will need I recently purchase the JS470E jigsaw and it has out performed my expectations on a number of projects I have tackled I would recommend the JS47OE for anyone who needs a powerful all purpose jigsaw that performs exceedingly well for light to heavy duty projects.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Bought this to replace an old inaccurate jig saw. I was amazed how easy this one was to use. I even like that this model is heavier. It actually makes guiding and cutting easier. What a pleasure!
