OVERALL: Easy to use, no harder than my laser measuring device. Impressive construction, strong measuring rod and tripod. Balances quickly and accurately, very nice set.
ROTATING LASER: Easy to use, only three buttons. Can quickly set to 360 or smaller angle. Top laser produces straight line easily when unit placed on back.
MEASURING ROD: A total of eight feet, collapses down to about 2 and 1/2 feet. The receiver attaches quickly and easily with clamp.
TRIPOD: Extends to about 5 1/2 feet, legs are in three sections. Double clamps hold the sections in place very well. Laser attaches easily and securely.
CASE: Double walled , much bigger than you might think, kind of a pain to store, but worth it. Every piece fits well into its slot. Worth noting that the tripod and measuring rod don't go in the case.

Rated 5 out of 5Â by Brian Amazing product.
This is a bad to the bone rotary laser. While you start with a trusted brand that only produces high quality products and stand behind with top notch customer service, you get a tool that will not let you down. It comes with everything you will possibly need on the jobsite except a cup of a coffee. Seriously, it has one of the nicest set-ups I've had the chance to use and I have used some horrible units with tin tripods that make your camera tripod look like they cost a million bucks. It self levels within 60 seconds and has multiple speeds. The sensor works well on the leveling rod to determine grades with beeps and tells you low or high. The only thing I have yet to try is if I can see the laser some 500 ft away let alone 800...I doubt it. None the less, this is a great rotary laser and truly has everything you need out of the box including the batteries.

This was my first experience with a rotary laser level. Cool! First used it to measure and map the grade in the backyard in order to determine fill dirt volume required for a construction project.
What I LIKE? 1) All parts are high quality; 2) Nice lightweight tripod and telescoping 8-ft rod; 3) Range and accuracy (1/4â per 100â) is fine for most jobs; 4) Levels itself quickly after set-up (much quicker than bubbles on a manual optical level); 5) kit also includes a sturdy wall mount for indoor use where the tri-pod isnât tall enough; 6) don't need a 2nd person to do the job.
Future applications insured! Great addition to my getting-more-valuable-every-day toolbox!

Though I already own a very high-quality, vintage transit used for the very same purpose (not laser), I was tempted into getting this kit. The ability to lay out a foundation, paint line, flooring, tile, etc by myself is a huge time savings as a DIY guy; I can imagine the labor savings to a contractor not needing 2 guys to do this task.
The items are well made and easy to use. Storage is compact. Yes, there is a potential "error" is laser as the light can be refract off particles in the air. If doing a large area, such as a foundation, my suggestion is to shoot the foundation/layout from multiple directions to "double check" the work and minimize any error.
Great product but I too feel the price is a bit on the high side THOUGH you do receive a quality product that is built to last & relatively easy to use.

Rated 1 out of 5Â by person Laser not bright enough
I bought this as a guide to paint retail stores which require one color of paint the first 8ft, and another color on top. It's just to save time making tape lines since I have to do it so often. The tripod only reaches about 5 feet. Why they did not include a center pole in the tripod to raise it even higher is beyond me. There is bracket you can use to mount the device onto the wall, but it forces to to mount it to something no thicker than 1/4inch, and only a certain direction. It basically took me 30 minutes to even find a way to mount this thing, I ended up taping it to a ladder, which was totally unsecure and shaky forcing it to recalibrate a lot. There is no way to wall mount this unless you want to drill holes in the brackets. It's designed to mount to exposed lathe, which is sort of hilariously limiting in application.
Now after all this work, I was amazed the laser was so weak. This was indoors, one room, 50ftx25ft. With the laser rotating I could not see this thing more than 20 feet away, that's with the red glasses they give you. I tried all the settings, including slower the rotation down. I tried turning off all the lights. The light it was battling was a few windows on 2 sides of the store, a far cry from outdoors, and I could not see the laser at all. What a waste of time. I will be returning this immediately.
The laser may be visible 200 feet away if it's stationary, but when it's rotating your looking at an effective working distance of 10 feet tops, that's if you are indoors with windows. If you want to cover up the windows and work in pitch black, yeah maybe you could see the laser 50 feet away.
The unit itself is well built like any bosch product, it's too bad it doesn't perform. If you don't need the rotating aspect, it's almost pointless to buy anyway.
