I would not recommend this table to cut ceramic, stone or porcelain tiles. I use a wet tile saw table for these types of materials.

Using a router to cut tiles can be difficult, and would depend greatly on the tile type and router bit being used. I personally would not use a router for cutting tile. A good wet saw, and a scroll saw with the proper blade fro intricate cats works much better.

Thank you for your question. The RA1171 router table is designed to be used with routers that work with wood, plastic, laminate or solid surface materials. It was not designed to be used with tile.

Thank you for your question. The adapter plate will work with several manufacturer's models, if it doesn't match up with the pre-drilled holes you can mark off and drill the needed holes to mount your router.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by great deal good product great price ,,,, got it as a gift hes pleased August 2, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great table for the price Overall it is a very good table. Went together very easy using the included instructions. The only issue I have had is the insert leveling screws move by themselves when moving or using the table. I had to add some pipe thread tape to the threads to help hold them in place. If this don't work then I will put a small drop of thread locker on them. Once it is leveled, it should not have to be adjusted. I am using it with a Harbor freight plunge router. It mounted right up with no modifications. I have been using it with jig templates, flush cut bits and chamfer bits. Works great. March 19, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Just Perfect for Me and My Work From the start, I want you to know that the Bosch RA1171 router table that I bought was to replace the homemade table that I have been using for the past few years. I make wooden jewelry and keepsake boxes and this upgrade was for more precision with my work... I this respect, the Bosch router table has met all of my expectations. I have used it daily for a month now and I love this router table! I needed a bench-top table because of the size restrictions of my small shop. I wanted a metal insert plate (a sturdy 3/8ths inch one came with this Bosch) with insert rings (my homemade MDF plate has sagged over time causing precision problems And, I had to lift the whole plate out and change it to have different opening sizes for the various bits). I needed dust control that I didn't have with my homemade model (not just for me, but for her too). I needed space under the table to remove the router to use as a plunge router and I was looking for a table that would accommodate my Skil 1830 router with the proper mounting holes (hard to find one for the Skil). The Bosch RA1171 provided me with all of this. Before purchasing this router table, I read all the reviews to make my decision, not just on this site but all that I could find. Many of the complaints in the reviews I found came from people who expected an out-of-the-box piece of equipment... Some assembly is required but the manual is easy to read and easy to follow if you know how to put things together. All holes are pre-drilled and no-brainers. A youngster that knows how to read and can use a screw driver would have no problem with assembly. It took me exactly 23 min. to put together and I was leisurely assembling this product. This I found contrary to many reviews. I believe these people either never purchased and assembled this product or have never assembled any products before. If you're one of those people that expect a ready to use unit with no adjustment, this product is too much for you. Some Adjustment Is Needed! This is mainly in reference to adjusting the insert levelling screws. Again, a no-brainer as you would need to do this in your set-up for routing your pieces anyway. Not doing this may be why some reviews noted that not having the insert plate levelled when they assembled the product, caused their wood to dip and cause problems with accuracy of the cut. Properly levelled, I see no problems. The product works fine if you read and follow the simple manual. A few reviews stated that they bought the RA1171 because of dust control but found it not up to par. The dust port in the lower cabinet didn't seem to pick up all the dust. If you've used a table without a cabinet and seen the mess a router table can make, just the cabinet is a blessing for containing sawdust. But, taking these reviews into account, I did three things to alleviate this problem... first, I sealed the power cords into the slot in the lower dust port so their would be less air leak there. Second, I made a small panel to ring the electric switch so that when the door is closed, it seals the large air leak around the switch, thus giving more down-draft to the table insert plate thus more pull of sawdust to the dust duct (also made a styrofoam plug for the finger hole - another big air leak). And, thirdly, I bought a t-connector pipe and a short run of vac hose and now have both the upper and lower dust ducts working at the same time (this also alleviated one complaint about the position of the lower duct and finding it when needed as my attachment point to his shop vac), and is clearly on the side and away from the table itself. And, love being able to plug the shop vac into the unit so I turn it on at the same time the router is turned on. One review stated the frailty of the fence attachment to the table top. He was afraid of stripping-out the attachment slot with the bolt over use. Could happen I guess, but you would have to over-tighten that bolt through 1 1/8 inches of MDF and plastic laminate to do this... Maybe he forgot to put the washer on the bolt to prevent this from happening, then over-tightened or didn't read the manual and all the "don't over-tighten" warnings. Along those lines was the review about the moveable fence face bolts just turning and not tightening. That poor fellow must have cinched down the bolt like it was never to move again to have that problem. That's one adjustment that will be changed with different cuts many times over the use of the table. It doesn't need to be tightened for posterity... Once again, the manual states... Don't Over-tighten. One review dismissed the poor quality of the table's miter slot. I guess he was comparing it to the more expensive models. He stated that it wouldn't accommodate his miter and was poorly made (it's aluminium). Must be a very old one as all my 3/4 inch miters work with this table. He routed a new dado and put in a combo miter slot with both a 3/4 inch slot and a t-slot for accessories. Not needed, but might be nice if I had all those fancy accessories that are made the t-slot. This Bosch RA1171 router table and cabinet fully meets my expectations! Maybe that's because I've had experience with my homemade router table. The RA1171 is small, but just right for me (I'm not looking for a full sized table for making cabinetry). Compared to what I have been used to, it has the precision that I was searching for. Adjustments are easier than with my old table, saving me time and with precision. Do I see any cons to purchasing this unit? Minor ones that aren't needed but would be nice... Mainly having better attachment slots for clamping stop-blocks and other accessories, especially a t-slot on the top of the fence like in more expensive models. Would like Bosch to offer insert rings with smaller openings like 1/2 inch and 1/4 inch so I didn't have to make my own. Would also be nice to have more accessories for the table that accommodate the table's configuration (like stop-block clamps)... again, not needed, just nice and we might see them in the future as this table becomes more popular for the beginner, hobbyist and part-time professional as myself. For an inexpensive unit, you can't beat this one. It's not made for the professional and the use that they would put this table through. For a 1st table or for moderate use, you'll find the Bosch more than exceptional. For the small shop, it's a dream... You get what you pay for (this is inexpensive but not cheap in quality). And this product more than met my expectations. If you're like me and are on a budget, but wanting to buy a precise, quality router table you can't go wrong with the RA1171. Just don't expect all the frills of the higher dollar, professional tables. And, why did I choose HomeDepot? I live in the boonies and with home store delivery and pick-up, convenience. Yes, I recommend this product. May 16, 2016

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Bench top Router cabinet Table Very structurally sound and well built. Fits both my Routers well. February 10, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great for the money An excellent router table for the price point. I looked at all the major bench top router tables, Benchdog, Kreg, Bosch RA1181, before selecting this one, and I'm happy with my choice. It's built sturdy and is flat and square. I liked that this RT was a cabinet style with an external 2 plug on/off switch. The fence is surprisingly sturdy and straight. I was a little disappointed in the router plate, it's nice that it's Al, but it's cast Al, which makes it feel a little cheaper, but it's sturdy and can't complain for the price. If you have the time/money/space, I'd recommend getting a full size router table top and building a table under it, but this little table is perfect for my needs for now. January 21, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by very good table for the money I looked at a lot of tables from $75 to $500 and found this to be the best without going to the more expensive. I do not care for the aluminum table insert as it was a little hard to get it adjusted to be in perfect alignment with the table, but with a little patience I was able to do so otherwise I would have given it 5 stars. I have used it several times and really like it. June 9, 2014
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by OK for the price Split fence is a problem had to shim to get them even. Router plate too low and cast as others stated. I used some washers to even the plate to the table. I did use some silicon spray and wiped it dry to help the material slide across the table. Over all I was able to complete my project but will probably build on in the future with better materials. I use a Bosch router and had no issues getting it set up. February 15, 2014
