Rated 4.2 out of 5 by 15 reviewers.
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great Bit, But Be Careful For Log Type Wood Especially More Than 4" Deep I used a high torque Bosch brushless drill into an old ceda tree stump. Drills amazingly well, but at about 4" deep and beyond it hangs up on the wood and the full torque of the drill could break fingers, wrist, or hand. Great for seasoned lumber. Not so much for tree stumps. Use a flat bladed wood drill bit for that. June 16, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Bosch Spead Bit bad product I just left the attic with over 130 degrees. I tried for 20 minutes to drill one hole through 2 2x4s. I got about 2/3, done and had to come down. This is the worst Spade Bit I have ever seen or used. Going back to HD for a refund. July 13, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Bit for crilling green tree stumps After preparing a pilot hole, drilling ten inches into a green tree stump (with moderate pressure) was a breeze! About every 2 inches, I lifted and shop-vacuumed the sawdust out, The moist sawdust was lifted with an antique hand-brace auger bit. The vacuum removed dry sawdust. This was powered with the 1/2" Rigid heavy duty VSR drill, which was very adequate for the job. I used the commercial stump removal crystals and added water to commence the long-term removal of the stump. Bring on another stump! I first attempted to drill holes with the Bosch NKLT16 auger bit, which locked up deep in the hole and broke the drill chuck. That auger bit has 3-inch rise, which does not remove enough sawdust to complete the job. The high-rise auger bit is definitely not recommended for green stumps. Perhaps it would work, if you were careful to not press too hard, and if you regularly pulled the bit out to remove debris. However, since the spade bit is less expensive, the spade bit would be my recommendation. May 15, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by nice bit! Bit stayed sharp and is of very good quality! I am very pleased. May 17, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Right tool for the Right Job Nice solid bit...worked great for laying new electrical lines. March 23, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Best of Both This bit is a great combination between a spade bit and an auger bit. It drills fast clean holes and pull itself through like an auger bit. Yes, it does require some torque, but my 18V Rigid Li-Ion had absolutely no problems delivering; even with a flexible shaft in the middle (Yeah I did that!) Great bit, did what I needed. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Depends on the wood, and drill If you're using it to drill through lumber, I'm sure it works perfectly fine. But I was using it drill holes in logs (seasoned, but still not as dry as lumber), and the threaded tip kept pulling the bit down faster than the teeth could cut--especially once you get down past 3-4 inches. Then, naturally, you've got to back it out to get the shavings out. Again, I'd totally recommend this if you were just boring holes in lumber, just be aware of the aforementioned drawback if you're using it for something atypical. December 29, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent Bit Excellent quality. Very durable. Used it on many jobs including boring holes in a tree stump. October 20, 2015
