It does what it's supposed to do. It cuts cleanly and quickly

Worked great. Bored thru 2x4 quicker than a standard spade bit. I'll probably buy the full set.

Works nearly as well as a forstner bit! Drilled out 16 holes 1 1/4" dia by 1 1/4' deep in dried southern PT with 1 battery on a little Milwaukee M12 impact!

I bought this to make a hole through my wooden picnic table for a umbrella. It worked great!

I used this to bore holes in 1 inch pine. Made a 1/4" pilot hole but the spade bit too aggressively into the wood and split the plank. A Tool Shop paddle bit worked better and costs less. The bite is too much for a hand held drill as the drill bit would freeze and the drill would pull from my grip.

Too aggressive for me. A DIY'er not pro, I prefer to drill my cabling holes as carefully (slow) & as clean as I can, but in a test on a spare block of wood the screw tip of this 7/8in Daredevil bit (and it's angled cutting tips) pulls the bit into the wood so hard that it kept jamming to a stop. It probably would live up to it claims of drilling faster if you use a powerful drill (like I used) and handle it aggressively like a pro, but for me it was out of control. My test hole also turned out a little more like a funnel than hole because of all the jamming. FWIW, many of the studs in my home are strong but age made them prone to splitting (as my electrician discovered several times in my garage, resulting in lots of repair work for me), and I'd worry that an aggressive bit like this might risk damaging my studs esp. if it snags a framing nail while using it aggressively. I could probably handle an aggressive bit like this for smaller holes but for 7/8 I'm much happier with the conventional spade bit I found locally (at higher price) and will toss the Daredevil in the trash.

Not sure if it was my drill or the drill bit , but it had a hard time going through a regular 2x4. Had to drill 12 holes, by the time I got to the 4th one the bit seemed dull. Served the purpose for the price

I purchased 2 of these and one broke (literally) into 2 pieces on the first hole I tried to drill with it, and the other had the shaft physically bend when I tried to use it. Will never buy another Bosch product again and that's a shame.
