Answer:
The bits in this set are 6" long. There are longer versions of these Daredevil spade bits available, or one could always use a 1/4"-hex extension with one, but this is in no way the ideal bit to drill deeply into tree stumps. An 18"-long, 7/16"-shank auger bit of the diameter required is what I would use and recommend.

Answer:
with an extension it would works but I would suggest an auger style bit. If you hit rock or dirt this will dull these very quickly, I doubt you would be able to drill another hole.

Answer:
The overall length for the DareDevil spade bit set is 6 inches. We would recommend our DareDevil auger bit NKMT08 1/2" diameter x 8" usable length/13" overall length. Or NKLT08 1/2" x 13-1/2" useable length/17-1/2" overall length.

Answer:
Thank you for your question. The DSB5006 bit set has 1/4" hex shank with power groove so if your drill accepts 1/4" hex shank bits with power groove then these bits will work with your model.

Rated 4.5 out of 5 by 112 reviewers.
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Fast but dirty These bits might be good for someone else but I did not like the fact that it bored itself into the wood. It produced holes with blowouts on both sides of the wood. It also went so fast that it caused some pieces to splinter. April 10, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Way faster than regular bits Use of these bits made my work much easier, the drill style tip made it quicker to center the bit and drill the holes. August 7, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by drill bits Good quality and good drill bit. Good set. Will use soon. August 2, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by great value have used them yet but appear to a good selection of bit sizes. July 26, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Hated the threaded tip Just bought a pair of these spade bits to replace my 1/2" flat bit that wore out drilling holes in 3" landscape timbers. Never tried the type with this threaded tip before. HATED IT. It totally takes over the speed at which the bit progresses into the hole, and goes WAY too fast. You have zero control over the speed. My drill didn't even have the power to keep up with it, since it was cutting into the wood so fast. Maybe these would work on very shallow holes, but it was awful on the landscape timer I was cutting through. Returning the pair of bits after drilling one hole half deep. Unfortunately, this is the only style HD carries in-store now in individual (replacement) sizes. May 27, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Exactly as expected Good price and fast free delivery! Have used these previously with complete satisfaction. July 5, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by The bits that never seem to die I bought these for a quick job. I still use them and I bought them 3 months ago. I use them a couple times a week and I would be willing to bet I have over 80 holes on my 3/4" and 1" I know I hit a nail or two and these things are still going strong. Well worth the money June 28, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Real diggers! I have an old set of spade type bits, these bits put the old ones to shame. They really dig in and get the job done. Just make sure the drill you use has enough power to drive these bits. Very happy with them! June 28, 2016
