I just want you all to know that I have bought another one (this is #6)I bought the first one 5 yrs ago and it still works great. It's been dropped off the roof drug around, tossed around and thrown into the back of the truck a few times and still working today. The only reason I've bought another is I had to hire another guy, so he's gonna need a gun. Oil it before every use and your good to go. I've used about every type of nail gun out there and bostitch is the best I've found for reliability, the guys and I are laying down 3-4 square an hour each, that's about 750 nails an hour outa each gun. If we do get a jam 9 outa 10 times its cause of the coil nails not the gun. I also own framing, finish and cap guns, all bostitch so do I need to say more? Didn't think so.

Really like this gun. The flip down one piece nail loading area is great. Nice tight tool w/out any loss parts moving around. Gave 4 starts instead if 5 only because I was having a hard time getting 1" nails to fire right, when I changed to 1 1/4" nails I only had a miss set nail about 1/200 fired.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Rayhill Very good roofing nail gun.
Good nail gun, for those who don't like the contact trigger, if you call Bostitch, they will send you a new trigger for free. It only takes a minute to change over to a sequential trigger which allows for more precise placement of the nail. Use only ROOFING nails, a proper compressor, correct air pressure and you will have no problems.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by donquardo Bostitch coil nailer lets you concentrate on roofing, not your tools.
I bought this nail gun because I knew that I had a few reroofing projects and a ridge-vent retro-fit on the horizon. So far I've only used it on the ridge vent retro-fit (shingle over style) but it worked like a charm: no jamming, no nail heads sticking up, light-weight and it doesn't fire when it's out of nails which saves some time. It did fire a few blanks but not enough to slow me down.
I recently worked for a builder as a helper on 3 reroofs, as well as a number of other projects. We used the porter-cable 1 3/4" roofing coil-nailer and it jammed regularly and would leave lots of nails proud. We worked at a really fast pace so when the gun ran out of nails, we wouldn't usually notice until we shot a bunch of blanks into a shingle. So far I haven't experienced any of these problems with the bostitch.

The above reviewer must have been using the wrong nails.(this gun is not made to attach sheathing to studs)
the sqaure tip is perfect for adjusting the shingles before nailing. the shingle gauge, anti skid, darbide pads, quick reload, dry-fire lockouot and low price make this gun a great investment. Metal collated coil nails sometimes jam the firing pin, which can be reset by pushing it back into place with a hammer and framing nail.

This gun is awesome!! Plenty of power, rarely if ever mis-fires, easy to reload, lightweight and the dry-fire lockout is great. Have used other brands and I prefer this one above all.
